Loo Monthly News & Updates
Brrr…. This Winter Has Been Rough
When the Portland Loo was designed, it was created with Portland weather in mind, with mild winters and summers.  This winter has not been a mild one in Portland or the rest of the US for sure and it has been a challenge for the Portland Loo too.
Currently the Portland Loo is in more than 17 cities in The US and Canada. As the Loo gets successfully installed in more cities with more extreme weather, we are able to modify the Loo to better suit your cities unique weather conditions. The Portland Loo is not just for Portland and will succeed in any area when combined with proper sighting and planning.

The standard heating system that comes with every Loo was designed to keep the toilet and supply lines functioning down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  Cities that expect lower temperatures can now benefit from our rugged extreme cold weather option. Using both an electric heat trace and heated antifreeze circulation system to it keeps the Loo working longer under lower temperatures.  In addition, we also offer clear vinyl skirts that easily attach to cover the upper and lower louvers during the winter and protect the loo from the wind chill and snow much drifts. Using clear vinyl we are able to maintain visibility through the louvers for crime prevention.

If your park or city doesn't have one of our rugged extreme cold weather upgrade or the clear Loo skirts, we're able to upgrade your Loo immediately before the end of summer.

No matter how cold or mild the winters is, it is always a good idea to winterize your Portland Loo prior to freezing weather by following the steps in our winterization guide furnished with every loo.  If you need one please don’t hesitate to call or email us for it. As a Portland Loo owner we will also send you pre-winter instructions via email to any contact you request.

The Portland Loo crew is always here for you!  Let us know if you have any other suggestions to make the Portland Loo the best option for your city.
