Remembering Coach Pat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Coach Pat. Coach Pat began working at YTC at its inception in 1971 and has been the heart and soul of the club through his retirement this past September. This month, Pat was honored with the 2017 Rosemarie Siragusa Memorial Youth Service Award, which recognizes adults who have made major contributions towards the youth in their communities through volunteerism. Coach Pat selflessly dedicated his time to volunteering in schools, public parks and homeless shelters. He helped out as Santa Claus for many years, offering gifts and laughs to thousands of children. He'll always be part of YTC's family and an inspiration each and every day. We are proud to dedicate Court #4 to Pat and his name shines bright and will always be remembered. Everyone here at YTC can't thank him enough for his friendship and wisdom on and off the court throughout the years.

We encourage you to visit Pat's memorial page and share a memory of the wonderful times you've shared: Click Here
Pro Richard Sanchez visits
the Dominican Republic
It all started about 40 years ago when the Casa De Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic built a 13 Har-Tru court tennis facility and were in need of ball boys. The local underprivileged children were excited for the opportunity to work and practice their skills at such a prestigious resort and the tennis directors took on a fatherly role to help mentor the children. As time went on and the children honed their skills, they were able to progress from ball boy to hitting partner, then to Junior Pros, which was considered a major accomplishment as they were immediate supervisors to the players and ball boys. Many of the children eventually went on to become tennis professionals at other resorts and tennis facilities worldwide, as well as becoming doctors, lawyers, politicians and businessmen.

In 2016, the former ball boys came together to create the La Romana Ball Boys Tennis Foundation which sets up a mentoring program for ball boys and gives back to their community. Today, the La Romana Ball Boys Tennis Foundation has a total of thirty kids who are being mentored and we are in the process of adding more! Two of our instructors, coach Rene Guerrero and coach Richard Sanchez are proudly part of this foundation and Richard was lucky enough to travel to La Romana, Dominican Republic to celebrate the first anniversary of La Romana Ball Boys Tennis Foundation.

Gift to You...
Join us during the holidays for a discounted open court time of $36 per hour starting from December 23rd through January 1st!
Going Green!
It may be dark and gloomy outside but our new LED court lighting system is shining bright! Our LED lights increase the light level on our courts by 64% while saving 142,800 kWh of electricity per year. This translates to the same amount of greenhouse gas emissions from 21 passenger cars driven for one year, as well as the annual CO2 emissions from the electricity in 14.8 homes!
Want to make a big improvement to your tennis game?

Take a lot of small steps.
Most of the time small steps are more effective than long strides because they help you adjust to the ball and stay balanced for better consistency when playing.
