We cannot accomplish our mission and operate our agency without the help of our dedicated volunteers. These caring individuals give from their hearts as they assist us with a myriad of activities:

  • Legal and Hospital Accompaniments
  • Staffing our Resale Store, Something Special
  • Office and Administrative Tasks
  • Answering the Crisis Hotline
  • Childcare Activities
  • Cooking Casseroles and Baking Cakes and Cookies

Dreams Come True!

Volunteer Training
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our newest group to complete the Volunteer Orientation!! We cannot wait to see the changes you will be making in the lives of those we support. We could not do this work without you.
Special Delivery
Something Special received a "special delivery" from a very tiny girl with a very large heart! Kindergartner, Miranda, pictured with her parents, dropped a lovely assortment of birthday gifts to brighten the day of some Shelter residents who were celebrating their birthday while staying with us.
Creature Comforts
A Huge SHOUT OUT to the SHSU Crime Victims Services Alliance . Through the month of April, the organization set up donation boxes at SHSU to gather stuffed animals for children involved in sexual assault cases. These cute little stuffed animals will be a sweet comfort for those children who receive our services.
Celebrating Mothers
Another beautiful presentation from the Lake Conroe Area Republican Women (LCARW) Caring for America. Dinner from Olive Garden was provided and beautiful rose centerpieces were placed on the decorated tables! Plus, all the ladies residing at our transitional housing received totes filled with special goodies! Thank you LCARW for making our moms feel so special! Movers For Moms
"Movers for Moms" collected 4,000 items for MCWC Shelter! Thank you Claudia Ziara and whole team at Two Men and A Truck Montgomery County, for being such a wonderful community partner! 5 years in a row and bigger each time! Your efforts are so appreciated!
Flip Flop Bonanza
Huge SHOUT OUT to Brittney Bates, Mrs. Texas United States 2018 and Chicago Title The Woodlands!! All we had to do is ask....and we received! THANK YOU for organizing the flip flop drive for our Shelter clients. The total donation was over 100 pairs of flip flops! What an amazing community we live in!
CPS Unit 15
Thank You to CPS Unit 15 housed at Children’s Safe Harbor in Conroe. From one non-profit to another, they chose to collect donations and goodies for our Shelter residents. This fabulous team strives to have a positive impact on the families they serve. Thanks to: Kim Anderson, Jose Alaniz, Dan Willbur, Brian Hughes, Rayvaughn Rose, Brooke Hutson, and Sharrai Benavides.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Amber Secrest - Director/Owner of Kangaroo Forest Daycare along with 4 volunteers spent the morning leading a Craft Day for our Shelter clients and their children. A fun time was had by all.

June Events
June Book Club
Please join us for our first ever BOOK CLUB, this June, where we will be reading “SPEAK”. We will hold an in person Book Club Wrap Up Event on JUNE 27th (6:00-7:30pm) for those of you who are in the Montgomery County area (location TBA). You can also join our Facebook Group where we will be checking in with the group weekly. The book club will begin June 1st so please pick up your books as soon as possible.

13 Reasons Why Screening
Join Us For Season 2- Weekly Screening & Discussion!!! 13 REASONS WHY is a fictional series that tackles tough, real world issues taking a look at sexual assault, substance abuse, suicide, & more. The goal is to start the conversation by shining light on these difficult topics. MCWC invites all parents, teens, and staff working with youth to join us weekly. So grab your lunch and help us explore 13 Reasons Why at the MCWC Business Office located at 1401 Airport Rd, Conroe TX 77301.

Youth Advisory Committee is Recruiting!
The MCWC Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a great place for teens to get involved, create opportunities for learning, discussion and most of all FUN! We have hosted film screenings, trivia nights and resource tables. You gain community service hours for attending meetings and events and it looks GREAT on college applications!
