Busy week for The Chamber!
Monday was a great day of learning and hearing about the impact of
Bicycle
Tourism
& Outdoor Recreation. Snohomish County Tourism hosted a Bicycle Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Workshop. This was a great opportunity to learn more about how Snohomish C
ounty’s growing trail system continues to connect urban areas with rural c
ommunities that invite bicyclists and outdoor enthusiasts to go exploring. I have more information and a few new ideas but if you would like to connect or have ideas as well on this topic let me know. Let's talk! I'll be reaching out to a few different businesses as well in the near future.
Tuesday I presented the Chamber's Annual Review to the City Council. If you missed Tuesday's luncheon that presentation was what I presented to City Council and you can hear the whole thing online. This is the
LINK to the agenda and minutes for all City Council Meetings. Our presentation was on May 17.
Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending my first Monroe Boys and Girls Club Advisory Committee Meeting. I learned a lot about the Club, had a short tour before the meeting and am so excited to hear about their youth programs. I also met with Don from Washington Federal and learned a little more about them and how they work. Don is a great resource and we are now in the planning stages to add a new class to our Java Jump Mondays Workshop Series in the fall.
Thursday I met with Mayor Thomas, Pam and Diane from NW Innovation Resource Center. What a great meeting I had with them! Learned about a new nonprofit resource center and how they help
innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs bring their products and business ideas to life. I heard about the class they hosted in Arlington and now we are in talks to bring classes to Monroe and connect entrepreneurs with mentors and investors. Another great things that happened on Thursday-T.I.M.E. Out for Monroe! We had a great time and I'll post pictures on Facebook on Monday about the event. The Dashing Dutchman catered the event and Coastal Community Bank hosted it. Katy is an amazing host and we all had a great time networking and trying to figure out the Mystery Guest.
I need your help! I am a very visual person and would love to learn more about you, your business and your staff. Please let me know that it is okay to come take a tour of your facility with a quick
email
. I'll call you and we can set up a date and time that works best for both of us for a meet and greet/tour. Don't have an office? No problem, let's meet at The Chamber, or The Dashing Dutchman's, or anywhere else and let's chat.
Now onto upcoming events...
