Practitioner of the Month
|
|
Our Practitioner of the Month for April is
Rev. Michael Benson
Michael's Purpose:
I am here to serve humanity as a joy-filled voice of love and compassion, to embrace the spontaneous nature of Spirit, thereby celebrating the abundant life.
Michael's Vision:
To live in the Wholeness and Joy of the Beloved.
What is a Practitioner?
A Practitioner is a person of high spiritual consciousness and deep understanding,
trained in the study of the Science of Mind and "Treatment." Treatment which is the art, science and skill of Affirmative Prayer. Practitioners are dedicated to the cause of helping others, licensed to practice professionally, and bound by a high code of ethics to respect your privacy.
What is Affirmative Prayer?
The use of Affirmative Prayer (sometimes referred to as a "Spiritual Mind Treatment" or just "Treatment") in our daily lives gives us the privilege of choosing the direction of our thoughts, so we are in harmony with a Power greater than we are, and brings our experience out of the darkness of limitation. It is a very powerful tool used to change one's thought, one's belief, and one's experience in a positive way.

The Book of the Month for April
The Soul of Money by Lynne Twist
Review by Michael C. Gray
|
|
This unique and fundamentally liberating book shows us that examining our attitudes toward money—earning it, spending it, and giving it away—can offer surprising insight into our lives, our values, and the essence of prosperity.
Lynne Twist, a global activist and fundraiser, has raised more than $150 million for charitable causes. Through personal stories and practical advice, she demonstrates how we can replace feelings of scarcity, guilt, and burden with experiences of sufficiency, freedom, and purpose. In this Nautilus Award-winning book, Twist shares from her own life, a journey illuminated by remarkable encounters with the richest and poorest, from the famous (Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama) to the anonymous but unforgettable heroes of everyday life.

Maxine was a member of our community for 30 plus years. Her adventurous spirit was an inspiration to her family, friends, and colleagues.
Immediately following the program and personal remarks from her twin sister, Marian, refreshments will be served.
All are encouraged to share a
My Personal Memory of Max
that will be individually recorded as a treasure for Maxine’s family.
One of Maxine’s favorite statements was, “Here’s to Life!”
So......Dear Maxine......
Here’s to Life!
