Don’t you just love the beginning of a new school year? “It makes me want to buy school supplies…[and] send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils” (Joe Fox in You’ve Got Mail). It feels like possibility, fresh and hopeful. And this is just as a beginning should be! So, let’s enjoy it!

Enjoy getting to know staff and parents and classmates. Enjoy learning new routines and class procedures.  Appreciate the new friendships and delight in getting to know your new class identity.  At home, find ways to make the morning smoother so that goodbyes are sweet rather than hurried and stressful. Consider tweaks in afternoon greetings that set the stage for a warm welcome home. Study closely the freshness transitions bring and be quick to affirm what you notice.

The AVA Staff and I are grateful to be alongside you. We’ve been preparing for this day when all pre-K through 8th grade classes are humming along. We have so much to learn and experience together in the days ahead. Welcome to year six of Aspen View Academy!

As we enter the 18-19 school year, Aspen View Academy will again be providing families with two great resources. The first is to help your family with transportation to and from school. We have partnered with School Pool to help you identify other AVA families within your neighborhood you can reach out to in order to create carpools to and from school.  If you do not want your information shared with other families for carpooling, please complete the School Pool OPT OUT FORM.  You have until August 31st to opt out of this program.

The second resource we provide to our families is the All School Directory available on the AVA Smart Phone App. You can search and download this app from your phone's app store. You will search Aspen View Academy. The all school directory is password protected on the app once the new directory is available. The password will be emailed to parents.  If you would like to opt out of the directory, please complete the DIRECTORY OPT OUT FORM by August 31st. You may opt out some or all your information.

The PTO wants you! Kids are back in school – it is the perfect time to get involved. We promise a great time. Please consider joining the PTO, helping on a sub-committee of the PTO, or planning one of our events! We can’t do it without the help of our parents – sign up here. If you have any questions, please feel free to email [email protected]

Up-coming PTO Events

Take a look at all the up-coming AVA PTO events (some dates could change). The AVA PTO is only successful with the help of our dedicated parents. We'll have more information about volunteer and vendor opportunities on the new AVA website once the PTO page (currently undergoing some renovations) is complete. We are eager for all of the updates to be completed shortly so that we can share more of what's up and coming. Stay tuned!
