The 12th Annual Fair Fiesta is just around the corner, February 24, 2018.
Like most things at the Oakland County Fair, this event is not possible without help from all of our families! Specifically, we need your help securing donations.
Here are some suggestions on how you can help without spending a ton (or any) money:
- Local Businesses: You support local businesses all year long…now is the time to ask for donations from businesses you frequently patronize such has your hair or nail salons, vet, pet groomer, dentist, orthodontist, lawn care, insurance agent, auto repair, home repair, restaurants…to name a few!
- Club Donations: Baskets from our 4-H Clubs make wonderful auction items and encourages participation in the bidding!
- No item is too small: All new and collectible items are welcome. For example, travel mugs, umbrellas, Koozies, lotions, soaps, and picture frames are perfect to add to baskets for finishing touches.
- Entertainment: Tickets for concerts, sporting events, theme parks and golf are always popular.
- Vacations: Do you have access to a condominium, cottage or timeshare? Why not donate a getaway?
- Parties: Many popular birthday party venues will donate Birthday Parties! If you have had a great experience somewhere, ask if they would be willing to make a tax deductible donation of a party.
- Themed Gift Baskets: Get creative! Gardening, new baby, pizza, chocolate, or coffee lovers, Lego, Princess, movies, Family Game Night, etc.
- Handcrafted items: Woodworking, quits, home décor creations are always popular!
Donors can receive a tax deductible receipt from the Oakland County Fair for their donation. The receipt can be picked up at the fair office or can be mailed to the donor.
