Mass+Main is an assemblage of three buildings on two city blocks at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Main Street in Central Square, Cambridge. In the spring of 2017 [  t  ]  Twining Properties received approvals for a 308 unit mixed-income residential community.

Parking Lot #6 spaces move to 65 Bishop Allen Drive on Monday 10/2
Public parking spaces at Parking Lot #6 will move across the street to 65 Bishop Allen Drive on Monday 10/2. The closed parking lot will be the staging area for the construction of Mass+Main and the City Storm Water Management projects.

Demolition of buildings along Columbia Street should be completed this week. Fencing will be erected this week for the demolition of the Mass Ave buildings (formerly Quest Diagnostics). The City Parking lot will be fenced off by Monday morning, after replacement spaces are opened at 65 Bishop Allen Drive.

  • Construction at 47 Bishop Allen Drive (23 apartments) starts in October and will be completed in August 2018.

  • M+M Construction will continue in phases through mid-2020.
Demolition of the garage at 47 Bishop Allen Drive is completed. Removing this eye-sore makes way for neighborhood housing; see below. Curtis Construction from Stoughton is the Contractor. JDC Demolition is the subcontractor.
The garage will be replaced with new housing: 23 rental apartments in a 4-story wood-framed building. Work starts in October. The new building includes generous setbacks and landscaping, giving neighbors more "breathing" room.

The building is scheduled to open in August 2018.
