Greetings!
Greetings from your friends at the Ella Johnson Library!
February is Library Lovers’ Month!
In the day and age of Google, some may ask, “Why do we even need libraries anymore?” You may be surprised to hear that libraries are more important now than ever.
The internet is vast and contains mountains of information, and even then, that information is only a small percentage of what’s published at any given time. And while all of this information is free for the taking, it’s not organized, there’s no quality control, and sources can be hard to identify. This is where your trusty librarian comes in – to help you wade through all of that information, and find exactly what’s useful for your needs.
Libraries aren’t only about helping you navigate the internet, and they aren’t just about books (although books are still a core service that libraries provide). Libraries offer services that aren’t tangible, and these services provide a multitude of benefits for our communities.
Inside the walls of the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library, you can find early childhood literacy initiatives including caregiver workshops and storytimes, adult computer and craft classes, concerts, SAT practice testing, book clubs, and much more. We are here to serve you, so what are you waiting for? Drop by the library today, and learn what we can do for YOU!
Please join us in celebrating the library this month, and throughout the year!
The library is a gathering place of intellect, entertainment, and enlightenment.
Thank you for being a part of the library community!
