Congratulations to Award-Winning CREW RVA Members!

Jessie Ewald, Geotechnical and Construction Services Team Leaders at Draper Aden Associates, received the 2017 Rising Star Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies.  The Rising Star Award recognizes individuals who make significant contributions to their company’s success in the engineering industry.  Selection reflects Jessica’s leadership in her field and involvement in professional and community organizations.  Here is a link to the info:http://www.acecva.org/2017-rising-star-awards.  Congratulations Jessie!!

Amelia Wehunt, Sr. Project Manager at Timmons Group, was named a 2017 Top Young Professional by Engineering News-Record.  Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition. 

Meaghan O’Brien of Dewberry has been selected to join the LEAD Virginia Class of 2017.  Each year’s  LeadVirginia class consists of a few leaders from across Virginia who have significant achievements in career and community service and who share a sincere concern about the future of Virginia.

Rebecca Napier, at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) is leading their new Richmond office operations.  WSSI is the leading provider of natural and cultural resource consulting services in the Mid-Atlantic. They've worked on a total of over 7,500 projects, comprising 275,000 acres, and have created and restored more than 1,000 acres of wetlands and restored miles of streams.  Rebecca is looking forward to bringing WSSI's services to the Richmond area and beyond.

Deal Divas
Jodie Strum at Atlantic Real Estate Capital recently worked with Kate Wagner at Sona Bank on the refinance of a retail center in Tappahannock and an office building in Innsbrook.  
Brett McNamee of Divaris and Donna Bearman of Forest City worked together on behalf of the landlord.

CREW Richmond Lunch Meetings
February Lunch Meeting: Carrie Rose Pace Shares the GRTC Pulse Vision - by Chandra Lantz

A cloudy Richmond day at the February meeting was brightened by Carrie Rose Pace’s presentation about the upcoming launch of the GRTC Pulse.  The Pulse is a Bus Rapid Transit line that will run from Rockett’s Landing to Willow Lawn.   Ms. Pace, the Director of Communications for the GRTC Transit System, enthusiastically shared with our members and guests the details and excitement for this soon-to-debut project.

On January 25, 2017, Andrea Brandenburger and Jessie Ewald of the Network Liaison committee held another great UCREW program!

UCREW is an interactive session designed to introduce college students to opportunities in commercial real estate. Past UCREW events have included networking luncheons for students from several area universities and “A Day at VSU with CREW Richmond” information table at Virginia State University.

This year the committee decided to try something a little different. After conversations with Jonathan Young at VSU, they decided to visit students where they spend much of their time – in the classroom!
