Community, Contribution & Communication
|
|
The 3 C’s, Community, Contribution, and Communication, are going to be the focus for our Board the next two years. The PTO is dedicated to building a strong school community, as well as assisting the school with funding needed for supplies and enrichment activities. In past years, the PTO has assisted the school with funding the science lab, smart boards, tablets and other technologies that directly impact our children’s education. Our Board will strive to identify and clearly communicate school needs, our goals, progress and opportunities for you to be involved.
- Community - we’re going to strive to increase involvement within the PTO, foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and fun in all our events, and work with the school’s front office to increase parish and alumni involvement creating a sense of community beyond just our school.
- Contribution - one of the objectives of our PTO is to help meet the fiscal needs of our school, teachers, and students. We’re going to do this by focusing our fundraising efforts on fewer but more impactful activities.
- Communication - realizing everyone’s time constraints, our Board’s goal is to come up with a general meeting schedule that enables more attendance, including limiting meetings to no more than one hour. We are also going to work with the school’s front office to leverage communication tools like Constant Contact, Facebook, the school’s website, etc. to publish information on events and general topics.

We have several vacant PTO Board and Committee positions for events the first half of the school year that we need help with:
- PTO Board Member Parish Outreach Coordinator. This position coordinates all the parish liaisons that assist both the PTO and Advancement Director with communication between the school and parishes. The goal this year is encouraging and inviting more parish involvement with our school.
- July 4th Fireworks Event Volunteers. More information will be coming home via email this week. Volunteers are still needed to help plan and run this fun Summer event.
- Magazine Drive Chairperson. The annual magazine drive held in the Fall is a major fundraiser for the school, raising over $3,500 in 2015. Please consider helping to coordinate our efforts with the vendor and communications for this important event.
- Halloween Spooktacular Chairperson and Volunteers. Please consider helping with this fun Fall event.
- December Book Fair Chairperson. Each year, we run a Scholastic Book Fair during the week of the Christmas Festival, which raises money and provides books for our classrooms. Please consider helping to coordinate our efforts for this important event.
- Annual Christmas Festival Chairperson and Sub-committee Chairs. Please consider helping with this major fundraiser. Over $13,000 was raised in 2015!
