A big welcome for those of you that are new to Foster Change. We are so happy you have decided to join us on this adventure as we continue to grow. Summer is here and the year is going by fast. Make sure to pack your sun screen with you wherever you go. We hope to offer special activities during the summer to help keep kids busy. Below is a list of what is currently available.
Events
Parents Night Out
Grace Point Church Church provides free respite care every first Friday of the month. Grace Point Church appreciates the opportunity to help Foster Parents take a little break to catch a movie or go do something fun with their significant other. For more information please contact:

Foster Connect Dinner
Foster Connect is having their first dinner of the year!

This event is open to any foster, adoptive, or kinship families. Please use the link below to register for the event. All of the information is included on the link so feel free to check it out and send the link out to your families! 

Summer Blast Play Date
Join us for a Summer Bash Playdate next month which will include some snow cones and more. This event is going to be held on June 28th from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at Aliante Nature Discover Park. Please email [email protected], contact us by phone at 702-970-4546 or you can request to join meetup.
PPlease save the date and join us Frida y July 20th from 5:30-7:30 pm. We will be enjoying a night of painting and getting to know each other better. There is no childcare provided for this so please schedule a babysitter now. Foster Change has a list of a few background checked childcare providers that may be available that night at a reasonable rate. Incredible's 2 Screening
There is an opportunity of your family to enjoy an early screening of The Incredible's 2. This event will be on June 15th at AMC Theaters in Town Square from 8:30 am to Noon. This ticket will include popcorn, a drink and a snack. This will include time to meet characters and win prizes as well as learn about resources. Connect with Training
CPR/First AID/AED training
Available Dates:

9/25/2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm. This is a $50.00 value which is provided to you with your Foster Change membership. There is no Childcare for this class and you must email [email protected] or call 702-970-4546.
9 out of 10 car seats are installed incorrectly. Foster Change cares about the transportation of kids and their safety. Available dates are:

Foster Change will be holding a group training QPI session on July 19 which will be lead by facilitator Anntesha Chesterton. We have childcare for this training but space is limited.

There's a new feature on the QPI Nevada Just in Time training website! There is now a button (Entrenamiento en Español) on the homepage. This button directs caregivers to a new page that features a link to the "Trainings in Spanish" topic in the video library and the Spanish version of the FAQ document.

Clark County Needs Foster Parents
Summer Fun








Did you know that Foster Children are, and will always be, FREE at SeaQuest Interactive Aquariums? Children in foster care are always welcome free of charge, 365 days a year! One caregiver will also receive free admission.

If your family is a member of The YMCA, there are great activities and events to consider.
Events include, Family's Night Out, Parents Night Out and much more. Some events and activities require memberships and some are offered at a low cost. Check the YMCA in your area for more details. Below is an informational flyer specific to the Centennial Hills YMCA.


Boys & Girls Club was established so that kids would have a safe place for recreational activities where they could develop and grow. This is a place where children can feel like they belong. This is also a great way for kids to interact with other kids and make new friends. Boys & Girls Club hosts events such as Boys Night Out, Girls Day and they have athletic activities. If you are interested in joining please visit your nearest Boys & Girls Club for pricing and member information.

Foster Kinship offers  Information Sessions  for new kinship caregivers in the child welfare system twice a month:
  • The 1st Saturday of each month at 2:30 PM in the Red Rock Room at 701K N Pecos, 89101 (Child Haven Campus).
  • The 3rd Monday of each month at 6 PM in the Carson City Room at 121 MLK Blvd, 89106 (Central Campus)
Foster Kinship provides weekly  child-only TANF application sessions - walk-ins welcome every Wednesday at noon at 4344 W Cheyenne or by appointment by calling  702-546-9988

Our  Kinship Resource Center  is open M-F 10-4 and we do accept walk-ins but appointments are highly recommended. We offer free notary, printing/copying, resource connection, application assistance (TANF, SNAP, EAP, WIC, Childcare, Licensing, etc), assistance with temporary and legal guardianship forms, emergency resources, referrals to community agencies.
