Palette by Perfect Fit, from Duluth, will be at Pikes Bay Marina, August 30th, 6-9 pm. Palette will provide all art supplies including:  16x20 canvas, acrylic paint,  brushes and apron. Plus an entertaining artist to walk you through the process of painting your own masterpiece to take home.  Cost is $35.  Adults only. Please bring your own drinks and snacks.

Is your boat equipped with a dock water inlet valve??  This is the connection that allows you to hookup your boats fresh water system directly to the water outlet on your pedestal.  It can be a great convenience, but also has the potential to cause a disaster.  If the pedestal water is left on while you are away and there is a connection failure,  it will eventually sink your boat.   Last week one of our service techs noticed a boat riding low in the water. He discovered a hose connection failure on the water inlet valve system and the boat had taken on a large quantity of water.  Had it not been noticed by an observant tech, it would have been a major disaster for the boat owner.

If you are currently using a dock water inlet valve – Remember to shut off your pedestal water supply whenever you leave the boat.

The Beneteau 42S7 is a Bruce Farr designed performance cruiser. She has a great turn of speed, is excellent upwind and has a PHRF of 81, making her a superb boat to both cruise and race. She is set up to be sailed single handed when desired. Sleeps 6 easily and has a forward owners stateroom with separate head, and an aft double. Lighthorse is a freshwater boat and has spent her years exclusively in the Great Lakes; the past 8 seasons in Lake Superior with her second owner. She has seen very light use, is sailed on weekends exclusively, 3 months a year. This boat has been meticulously maintained and upgraded annually.
