It's May and that means Kindergarten Orientation and Assessment! If you have a young one that is registering to attend Kindergarten this fall at WCS, please p lan on attending one of the mandatory Kindergarten Orientation and Assessment Nights listed below.  

If you cannot attend on the evening scheduled for your building, you are welcome to attend at one of the other buildings. The information will be the same.

Get ready for the start of a great experience for your child as a new Wilmington Hurricane!

We have talented students at Wilmington Middle School!  A number of students had their artwork chosen to be display at Clinton Memorial Hospital's newly renovated Professional Building.  The community is invited to attend the CMH Gallery Exhibition and Open House on Thursday, May 18th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the CMH Professional Building, 630 W Main St.

There will be light refreshments and door prizes. Come meet your local artists and CMH medical staff members.

For the 4th year Sodexo and Wilmington City Schools will be able to offer free lunch to ALL kids 18 years and younger in the Wilmington area. 

So whether the kids are on campus for summer school, participating in an event at school, or they just want to come in from the heat and catch up with their friends, lunch is on us!  

Children don't have to be enrolled in WCS, nor the free lunch program to participate.  Just come and bring an appetite and visit with friends! Adult meals can be purchased for $3.00.

When:   M-F from May 30th through August 11th (excluding July 4th)

Times:  11am to 1pm, meals must be consumed on site

Where:  Wilmington Middle School cafeteria 

We could use your help in spreading the word.  There are still too many kids in our community who are hungry and during the summer months this may be the only hot meal they get that day. So let the neighborhood know, pack up the cars with kids, and get them to the WMS cafeteria for a healthy, hot meal this summer!

Summer Lunch Flyer

On May 20th, at JW Denver Williams Park, Little Hearts Big Smiles will hold their Annual 5K Fun Run.  Little Hearts Big Smiles of Southwestern Ohio is a support group for families of children with special needs and has been instrumental in raising funds to build a playground here in Wilmington for special needs kids.  To learn more about the organization and/or find out how you can help please visit their website littleheartsbigsmiles.org .

WCS has several students that are mini super heroes that will be cheering the runners on the big day!  We hope you'll stop by on race day to meet them.
