Tax Deadline!
 Federal Income Tax forms are due by  Tuesday, November 15th .
 
All PTA/PTSA units are required to file their annual "GROSS" income to the IRS.  Although we are tax exempt, it is our fiduciary responsibility to ensure the proper 990 forms are filed every year.  A PTA/PTSA is at risk of losing their tax-exempt status if they fail to file their proper 990 form for three consecutive years.  
Bylaws Reminder
Please check the front page of your PTA bylaws for approval date. Bylaws are valid for 3 years from that date. To renew your bylaws, download the 2016-2017 form from the Florida PTA. Fill it out, get proper signatures, and fax to Florida PTA for approval. (407 240-9577). Be sure to fill out the bylaws submission form as well.

Remember, any amendments need the vote of the membership following a 30 day notice. Otherwise, simple notification of the membership is all that is required. If you have any questions, contact Betty Marty at  bylaws@dccpta.org

Mr. Rogers' Sweater Drive
  WJCT and VyStar Credit Union in partnership with the Duval County Public School PTA are honoring the memory of Fred Rogers with the annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. The drive runs through  November 30  and accepts gently used sweaters, jackets and blankets. Contributions will be donated to a number of designated nonprofits in Duval, Clay, St. Johns’ and Nassau counties.  You can drop your items off at the Teacher Depot which is the old Lackawanna School located 3108 Lenox Ave 32254. You can also send 3-4 bags in school mail to the Teacher Depot.  Each school donation should include  Mr. Rogers’ School Participation Form.   If you have any delivery questions you can contact Chris Buckley at 381-7480 or Felita Tutt  programs@dccpta.org  with any questions.

Chartwells K12 & DCPS Food Services Offer Up All-New Field Trip Menus

Chartwells K12 and DCPS Food Services are proud to offer all-new Field Trip Menus to our students this school year. Our four unique offerings appeal to students of all ages and will be made fresh on-site, in the school café, leading up to your field trips. The new menu options include:

-          A soft pretzel fun lunch with yogurt and string cheese

-          A fresh turkey & mozzarella wrap on a whole grain tortilla

-          A build-your-own flatbread pizza lunch

-          A turkey-ham & provolone sandwich on a pretzel roll

Each field trip meal offers fresh, wholesome ingredients, including low-fat dairy, whole grain rich breads, and house made dipping sauces. The new order form and standard operating procedures will be available through the Food Services page on the duvalschools.org website, as well as by request from your café manager or bookkeeper. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, or to request a sample of our field trip lunches! We look forward to supporting your field trip meal needs this year.
