Next Generation Showcase
Taking the Stage
Over the past few months, Rachel Kennedy has been working alongside the rest of the staff here at Theatre Ontario to organize and prepare for the 2017 Next Generation Showcase. This event is a big one—with nearly 250 early-career performers making their audition debut for an audience of experienced directors, producers, agents, casting directors and artistic directors. Needless to say, the Young Centre for the Performing Arts was buzzing with excitement for the entire two-day event.

Youth Advisory Committee
Welcome to our 2017 Youth Advisory Committee
Our Youth Advisory Committee is focused on creating greater accessibility to youth interested in a career in theatre.

The goal is to achieve a greater connection with youth already engaged in theatre across the province, to examine ways to engage more youth in the province in theatre, and to help foster the next generation of theatre practitioners, professionals, and patrons across the province.

Festival Awards
We are excited to share two announcements regarding our Awards for Theatre Ontario Festival.

First, through the generosity of the Western Ontario Drama League, we are pleased to announce that the Theatre Ontario Festival’s Elsie Trophy (named for former Theatre Ontario President Elsie Thomson) will be presented for another ten years to the Outstanding Festival Production.

Second, we have removed the gendered categories of the Outstanding Performance awards at Festival.
