Massachusetts Whale Trail is a special collection of sites, stories and adventures all about WHALES. From Newburyport to New Bedford, on the Cape and Islands, and even in the Berkshires, the beloved marine mammals come to life through museums and attractions, whale watching, and historic sites and tours. On June 9, the
Clark Art Institute in Williamstown opens two summer exhibitions,
Women Artists in Paris, 1850-1900 and
The Art of Iron: Objects from the Musée le Secq des Tournelles.
Women Artists in Paris features 70+ paintings, including works by renowned artists including Berthe Morisot and Mary Cassatt and by many of their lesser known but equally remarkable peers. The exhibition provides a particularly timely opportunity to discover and reconsider the work of many of the women artists who flocked to Paris, but whose talents were often overshadowed due to era's conservative gender norms.
The Art of Iron celebrates the beauty and exceptional craft of wrought iron, most of which was salvaged as Europe moved into the industrial age. Find more events and information for
