A Whale of a Good Time
There's a new experience making a splash in the Bay State! The Massachusetts Whale Trail is a special collection of sites, stories and adventures all about WHALES. From Newburyport to New Bedford, on the Cape and Islands, and even in the Berkshires, the beloved marine mammals come to life through museums and attractions, whale watching, and historic sites and tours. With whale watching season in full swing, this is a great time to start the trail (though many sites and activities can be enjoyed all year round!). Walk in the footsteps of sailors and captains, visit the places that inspired Melville's Moby-Dick, admire the art and artifacts from yesteryear, and learn about conservation and research efforts to protect the giants of the deep. The 63rd Annual South Shore Arts Festival will be held June 15-17 outdoors on Cohasset Common! The Cohasset Common provides a beautiful and scenic location to display and sell the works of local artists, and the festival is attended by over 9,000 guests in a typical year. Enjoy live music, food and drink, art displays and live demonstrations, along with the creative work of vendors, draw art and festival lovers from all around Boston's South Shore, and beyond. Southeastern Mass

Passport to History is a joint effort of museums to share and explore the fantastic diverse history of Southeastern Massachusetts! Visitors can pick up a passport and complete a location-specific activity to earn a passport stamp. You will have a chance to explore and learn about the exciting history of the Old Colony region. The Tony Award-winning Williamstown Theatre Festival's 2018 season begins June 26 and includes new and world premiere plays and musicals featuring Matthew Broderick, Mary-Louise Parker, Eden Espinosa, Samira Wiley, and many more!  For over six decades, WTF has brought theatre artists together to create a thrilling summer of fresh, new productions, and offers additional programming including COMMUNITY WORKS, Late-Night Cabarets, and the Fridays@3 Reading Series. Greater Merrimack Valley

Enjoy concerts by national performers outdoors at the Lowell Summer Music Series! The series kicks off on Thursday, June 14 with David Crosby, followed by Rhiannon Giddens on Friday, June 15 and Fitz & the Tantrums on Sunday, June 17. Central Massachusetts

Summer's just around the corner in Central Mass! Come celebrate New England's Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival in Worcester on June 2. The Taste of Shrewsbury Street on June 19 is an evening of amazing food, live music and block parties, with over 40 eateries from Worcester's "Restaurant Row" providing samples of some of their signature dishes. And Make Music Worcester, celebrated on the summer solstice, is an annual free, city-wide, outdoor celebration of music on June 21. Find more events and information for Central Massachusetts.
Franklin County
The Mutton & Mead Medieval Festival is set for June 16-17 from 10 am to 6 pm at 210 Turners Falls Rd in Montague. This festival brings together theater, fun, food, and entertainment with a medieval flair! It is a day for everyone: kids, teens, and adults alike. Come in costume or come as you are, and enjoy the festival! Greater Boston
Cheers for longer days when everyone can enjoy star-studded concerts and concerts under the stars, strolling performers throughout Downtown Crossing, Boston Harbor Islands for jazz or blues and The Patios at City Hall. Speaking of City Hall, the Plaza also hosts several annual summer concerts, from the Donna Summer Roller Disco Party to Gospel Fest and Caliente. Cape Cod
Kick off summer in true Cape Cod fashion at the 10th Annual Quahog Day! Come witness Doug the Quahog make his annual prediction for how many weeks of beach weather lie ahead at 2 pm Thursday, June 21 at the Pilot House Restaurant on Sandwich Marina. A Cape Cod tradition! This year's event will be emceed by WCVB-TV Boston anchor and Cape Cod native Doug Meehan. Also in June, over 300 classic cars will be on display in downtown Hyannis on Sunday, June 17 at the Father's Day Car Show, and the prestigious Provincetown International Film Festival is set for June 13-17! Greater Springfield
The Worthy Craft Beer Showcase on June 16 (noon to 4 pm) is a super-cool one-day 21+ happening designed with the fan of local brewing in mind. Taste tried-and-true brews galore, alongside extreme firkins, casks, and concept beers from our region's ever-expanding  craft beer scene! Live bands, food trucks and much more will enliven this celebration. NOTE: ticket price includes entrance to Smith's Billiards & Theodores for the remainder of the night. We're all in for scrapping the indoors and bringing it all outdoors. Bike from brewery to brewery on the Pedal 2 Pints Summer Ride on Saturday, June 2! Gorge on our world-famous asparagus (it's Hadley Grass, here) at the WGBH Asparagus Festival on June 2, featured in Yankee Magazine. Hit the streets for Easthampton's Cultural Chaos Cottage Street Festival on June 9 and Northampton's Main Street Summer Block Party, July 7. If craft beer is your thing (isn't it everyone's thing?) come for Western Mass Beer Week, June 9 -16. More than 100 events at breweries and restaurants. Johnny Appleseed Country
Forget the calendar. A sure sign of summer's arrival is the opening of the annual Regional Show at the Fitchburg Art Museum. This 83-year-old juried exhibition showcases the talent of area artists - and offers visitors an opportunity to vote for their favorite piece. Looking for more ways to usher in the season? Try the Starburst concert in Leominster, the Winchendon Music Festival, or a Saturday afternoon tea in the garden at the Narragansett Historical Society in Templeton! Martha's Vineyard 
Oak Bluffs Harborfest will be held Saturday, June 16! Come enjoy this Vineyard gateway town's charming annual Harborfest. Over 40 vendors from near and far, including many of the Vineyard favorites, plan to return for one of the Island's most popular events. On June 9, the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown opens two summer exhibitions, Women Artists in Paris, 1850-1900 and The Art of Iron: Objects from the Musée le Secq des Tournelles. Women Artists in Paris features 70+ paintings, including works by renowned artists including Berthe Morisot and Mary Cassatt and by many of their lesser known but equally remarkable peers. The exhibition provides a particularly timely opportunity to discover and reconsider the work of many of the women artists who flocked to Paris, but whose talents were often overshadowed due to era's conservative gender norms. The Art of Iron celebrates the beauty and exceptional craft of wrought iron, most of which was salvaged as Europe moved into the industrial age. MetroWest

Back for it's fifth year, MetroFest - MetroWest's annual regional arts, music, and food truck festival - will be bigger and better than ever on Saturday, June 16! Kids will love the climbing wall, Touch-a-Truck exhibit, and more, while guests of all ages will enjoy the electric bike track and Live Action Escapes exhibits. There will be live music all day, as well as food trucks and offerings from local breweries. Free shuttles to and from designated parking areas will be provided. Nantucket Island

Cruise over for Nantucket's Spring Restaurant Week (June 4-10) when a number of acclaimed restaurants offer attractively priced prix fixe menus. Nantucket Book Festival (June 15-17) - a celebration of the written word - features renowned literary figures, lectures, staged readings, and meet-the-author events; we welcome Alice Hoffman, Elin Hilderbrand, Nathaniel Philbrick and others. From June 20-25, the Nantucket Film Festival delivers a variety of eclectic films and features Late Night Storytelling, staged readings, and a glittering Screenwriter's Tribute. North of Boston
Explore Essex County's collection of homes, buildings and artifacts from America's First Period (1625-1725) during 17th Century Saturdays on June 2 and occurring the first Saturday of the month through October. Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich hosts Polish Artist Alicja Kwade's first large-scale public art installation in the U.S. as part of Art & the Landscape.
