On Sunday, March 29, KUCSC President David Castillo and President-Elect Craig Minielly surprised Mary Carol Watters, Dean of Students at King's for over 35 years, by announcing that the President's Office is being named in her honour.
The Mary Carol Watters KUCSC Leadership Office commemorates her dedication to student leadership and engagement during her time as Dean of Students. The naming of this suite was made possible by the KUCSC support of the Student Life Campaign, a fundraising initiative to build the King Centre as well as significantly increase the endowment for student awards and bursaries at King's.
The naming of the office comes in the midst of Mary Carol's retirement later this spring. Mary Carol will take her official leave in June 2015 and will be sorely missed by all students, faculty and staff at King's.
