London Youth Advisory Council: Western Representative Elections
The London Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) is looking to elect a new person for the Western Representative position. Campaigning for this position will run from January 4th- 22nd.

The LYAC is a youth government of 15 young people aged 15-25, are democratically elected to represent the 14 wards of London, with an additional 15th councillor who represents Western specifically. The goal of the LYAC is to amplify youth opinions on a diverse array of public policy issues to the decision-makers in our formal governments and institutions.
 
The position of the LYAC Western councillor is to represent the interests of Western students to the wider London community. Last year, Kyle Sholes (who is a Huron student), was elected as the first Western councillor.
 
Following the campaigning period, they will be included on the USC elections ballot as the LYAC Western representative. Any Western or affiliate student under the age of 25 is eligible to run.

Applications are now being accepted for the position of International House Coordinator for the 2016-2017 academic year. The International House Coordinator (IHC) assists the Residence Manager and the Manager of King's International with various aspects of the residence life program and the international students program.

January Tuition Deadlines/Student Finance Holiday Hours
Non-OSAP Students: 
The second installment of tuition for domestic students using the two installment payment plan (plan B) is due no later than January 7, 2016. Late fees will be applied to all payments received after this date. You can view your account statement at https://www.kingscollege.net/sfsPortal. Additionally, our generic fee schedules are available online at; http://www.kings.uwo.ca/current-students/money-matters/fees/course-and-program-fees/.
 
Payments can be made through online/telephone banking, cheque, cash, debit, credit card, or money order. Instructions for online/telephone banking can be found at:  http://www.kings.uwo.ca/current-students/money-matters/fees/payment-methods/ . Students wishing to pay by cheque are encouraged to drop off or mail a postdated cheque to Student Financial Services before January 7th, in order to avoid line ups.
 
OSAP Students:
If your OSAP funding is not enough to cover your second installment of tuition/fees, the remaining balance will need to be paid by January 14th. These students will receive notification to their UWO email address notifying them of the amount that is due. Please ensure that your UWO email is able to accept incoming mail and that you are checking it regularly.

Do you thrive on interactions and exchanges? Are you curious about exploring your inner-innovator? Want to find partners in goodness? If you find a bit of yourself in this description, we invite you to join us!

Innovation Works is the only place in London that is intentionally designed to encourage cross-sector collaboration among non-profits, social enterprises, social purpose businesses and entrepreneurs. 

Imagine a place where dynamic change-makers can bring the beat back into the very heart of London - that's what Innovation Works is all about.

Innovation Works is opening its doors on June 2016 and is set to be the home to over 100 tenants by the end of 2017. This community of social innovators will be located at 201 King Street, a 32,000 square foot building in central down town with endless possibilities.

The theme of the launch event is "IN the Neighborhood". The Innovation Works Launch event will be the biggest neighbourhood block party our down town has seen. 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Project Planning - be a part of the planning right off the ground, setting the theme and making the cool factor happen!

Logistics - lead or participate in planning, arranging, positioning of key logistical elements of the day.

Communication/Marketing - building a plan that will include all of our down town, including the hype build prior to the event.

Volunteer Management - determine requirements with primes and manage intake and engagement.
