Self Coaching - Creating a Plan:
As you re-read your assessment from week one, we encourage you to begin a plan of action to become more focused on your Relationship Management...
1.Identify one or two examples where inter-personal relationships were a major factor in completing a project.
What were the negative effects that these relationships had on the process? How about the positive ones?
2. Think of three specific direct reports or team members and the relationships that your share with them. In what condition are these relationships?
3. Focus on the relationships of these direct reports or team members that are in poor shape. Do you feel a large or small amount of conflict ? How have you navigated through this conflict in the past? What worked well? What didn't?
4. Identify a few upcoming opportunities to address difficult situations with these people. What strategies will you adopt? What will you change or keep consistent from the past?
5. Now, focus on the relationships that are health and productive. What aspects or behaviors make them positive? Are there any ideas or aspects of these interactions that you could use when dealing with troubled relationships?
