It's all about the light
Many clients find choosing a color on their own really challenging.
And this is not surprising, because our perception of color changes constantly, based on the following:
Time of day --(color temperature of the sunlight in the room)
Artificial light--artificial lighting often has a cast, depending on its source. The direction and intensity of that light also affects our perception of the surrounding colors
Angle of exposure--southern and western windows provide warmer light than eastern and northern ones
Surrounding colors--the adjacent colors have a much larger effect on our color perception than we realize
Surface --is it shiny or matte? Shiny surfaces appear lighter than matte ones
Our moods--different people are naturally attracted to different colors. And you may find that your color preferences change over time. The trick is to find colors that you love, that work well in your home, and fit your lighting conditions.
