Rebuilding Cornerstone MCC

Under the guidance of Pastor Ruth, the Board of Directors has identified teams to meet the needs of Cornerstone MCC as we rebuild. Believing that we all have gifts to offer, Pastor Ruth and the Board are asking you to sign up to help one or more of the following Teams - Building & Grounds, Congregational Care, Facility (inside cleaning & decorating), Fellowship, Hospitality, Multi-Media, Music, Outreach, Organizational/Inventory, Prayer, Ushers, Welcome, and Worship. There has been a very positive response so far, and we hope that all will help on at least one team. Sign-up sheets will be available this coming Sunday.

Believing that music is a beautiful and inspiring part of worship, Pastor Ruth would like to invite all men and women who enjoy singing to join her Sunday, July 9 at 9:30am for choir practice. She will have music ready to rehearse with us for the service to follow! If you have other musical talents you would like to share, please talk to Pastor Ruth.

The Men’s Fellowship Group is planning the next church fundraiser – a yard, garage, rummage sale (whatever you like to call it) in the next few weeks. So if you are cleaning and have something to donate, please hang on to it until we ask you to bring to church (or if it’s big, we’ll come get it). So stay tuned for the date and more details!

Jessie Brinkman has a coworker whose son and wife, pregnant for the first time, lost their house from fire after it was struck by lightning. Donations including baby clothes, diapers, and related items (gender of baby unknown at this time), men’s clothes (shirt size large, pants 34x32, shoes 9 ½), and women’s maternity clothes (med-large shirt size) would be appreciated. If you could bring such items to church on Sunday, Jessie will see that they are delivered. Cash donations will also be accepted.

This past Saturday, the Men’s Fellowship Group sponsored a Beauty & the Beast Movie Night for men and women. Guests were greeted by our own Beauty (Venus) and Beast (Darrell)! It was a very successful evening of fundraising and fellowship as Cornerstone’s family and friends watched the new “Beauty and the Beast” movie along with typical movie treats. Now we have had several requests for another similar event!
