There was a time when the whole category of Rosé was something we in the business tried to sell but ended up consuming ourselves. That's not the case anymore as winemakers have improved the quality of Rosés to the point where they're now much sought after by wine enthusiasts.  This week I've got a R osé  for you that's so good that it should be illegal! In the words of Eric Clapton, "She don't lie, she don't lie, Cocagne" (artistic license taken). 

Cocagne Coteaux du Vendomois, made from 100% Pineau d'Aunis, is simply divine. It's a refreshing mélange of sweet/tart red fruits like raspberry, tart cherry and cranberry, with an inkling of pepper on the finish. As with almost all Rosés, this one is sure to come and go before you know it so grab it while you can.
