Support USIPI This Ramadan

Dear Friend,
Assalamualaykum and Ramadan Kareem!

Did you know an average Muslim in India lives on Rs.980* per month?

That is one of the lowest level among all socio-economic communities in India.  To put that in perspective, that amount is 40% less than what other communities spend.  USIPI believes bridging this economic gap can come about only through interventions at the policy level as well as targeted development at village and district level.

Since 2012 USIPI has focused on collecting data that guides policy makers at the national and local level and selection of projects/programs with sustained and long term impact on poverty alleviation. USIPI's research is cited and used by policy makers and academics and its recommendations are accepted by influential committees in India.

The funding for our activities has come from supporters like you and our board members who have invested their time and money. In this blessed month of Ramadan, we invite you to support USIPI's work of poverty alleviation and empowering Muslims by becoming an USIPI Ambassador for Development

Please choose any of the levels of support to help promote USIPI's mission.

How Much Money Do Indians Survive On?

*This table is based on NSSO data for 2009-10  showing  the  average  Monthly Per Capita Expenditure (MPCE) by socio-religious communities in India. Although, these numbers may have gone up in 2014-15, but the relative
difference between the communities are likely the same.

Monthly Expense
Per Person

MPCE is the amount that is spent on each member of the household for food and other expenses such as rent, clothing, conveyance, education, fuels, lighting, consumer services etc.
