Women in Transition
A Four Part Series Exploring the Female Animal

This workshop is being led by one of LA's most desired OB-GYN's, Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz and City Yoga co-owner and certified birth doula Rebecca Benenati. They will be exploring the relationship women have to their pelvis and heart and how the two can intermingle to cause stress or create harmony. You will have a chance to ask questions that maybe your doctor doesn't have time for, or you don't think you should ask. You will also have time on your mat in postures that will help you build more awareness of your powerful pelvis. They have collaborated to make this workshop the start of an upcoming series in June, entitled, "Women in Transition".
There are all kinds of transitions that we make; from woman to mother, from daughter to motherless daughter, from married to single, and single to married, from 30's to 40's and 20's to 30's, and of course perimenopause and birth. This is what we do as women, we transition! Every month we shift from being and knowing to confusion and extremes.
It is time to gather and get acquainted with our bodies on our mat and off the stirrups. Let's get acquainted with the mystery of the deep inner workings of our female bodies. We hope you will join us as we launch this powerful series!

$40 in advance Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz is involved in women's empowerment and public education, and appears frequently as an expert in women's and integrative health on TV, online and in print. She earned her medical degree in 1996 from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and has been in private practice of obstetrics and gynecology in Beverly Hills since 2000. After many years of a personal yoga and meditation practice, she completed her Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist degree at California College of Ayurveda in 2010 and was board certified in Integrative and Holistic medicine in 2008. Her diverse background includes research experience combining Ayurveda and conventional medicine, and she is deeply committed to the promotion of healing that involves individuals, families, communities and the planet.
Rebecca Benenati has been in the business of Health and Fitness since 1992. Before joining with her husband Anthony as co-owner of City Yoga, Rebecca had her own personal training and massage business. She began teaching yoga in 1993 after being reminded of how fun it was to move and stretch like she did as a young gymnast. Her yoga practice has not only become a way of life, it has become the one single thing that keeps her grounded, sane, happy, challenged and strong. As a stepmother and a mother of two, Rebecca knows the challenges of everyday life so her classes are tough, though not just physically. She is deeply inspired to make space in her classes for her students to feel what is going on in their lives. This, she believes is the only way to fully embody the lessons right in front of them on their mat.
