Dinner and a Movie with Farmer Dave's and the Cape Ann Community Cinema

Is this Heaven? No, it's a Dinner & A Movie at the Cape Ann Community Cinema! Join us at the Cape Ann Cinema for a special screening of the inspirational film "Field of Dreams" starring Kevin Costner, hosted by Farmer Dave's. Sit back and enjoy a delicious American summer meal featuring our vegetables while watching this American family fantasy-drama!

When: Sunday July 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Cape Ann Community Cinema, 21 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930

Join us for Farmer Dave's Garlic Day!

Celebrate summer by enjoying the sweet smell of ... garlic? Why yes, garlic! We are harvesting our garlic patch and couldn't think of a better way to do it than to share the experience with you.

Meet us at Farmer Dave's farm (437 Parker Road, Dracut) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2nd for a day of garlic festivities. Farmer Dave will kick off the event in our field with a Garlic Growing Workshop, followed by an hour-long harvest of our crop. Pulling up garlic from the field is easy, satisfying work, perfect for all of the little ones! We'll wrap up the day with a cooking demonstration and all kinds of information about garlic.

There are only 100 spots available for Farmer Dave's Garlic Day. Registration is required. Garlic Day will be open to the general public who register but Farmer Dave's is giving priority registration to our CSA members. CSA member only registration will be open until Friday, July 25th, then open to the general public until Thursday, July 31st. To register, please send an email with your name the size of your party to Ginger at [email protected].

What you'll need: Work gloves, close toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (NO sandals or open toed shoes, please. This is vital for your comfort and safety.), sunscreen, water, a love of all things garlic and excitement about getting your hands dirty!

Groundwork Share-a-Share Update

Thanks to generous donations by you (CSA members) to the Groundwork Share-A-Share™ fund, we were able to subsidize the cost of shares in 2013 for over thirty individuals and families, as well as shares for local food pantries.
