The Rabbi, the Imam, and the Baptist minister go on a road trip together...

No, it's not a Super Bowl ad for Toyota. It's what happened when I set off on the first day of February for the REM 30th anniversary invitational in Washington DC with our Associate Certified Educator Jim Egolf and our new CEC hopeful Jawad Bayat. By the time we arrived, the mega-virus that I had been fighting for weeks (and thought I was mostly over) staged its last stand with a grand bout of laryngitis. For the first time in my many decades, I was literally unable to say a word (careful, I can hear some of you cheering).

Weekly Highlights
This Week's Reflection
While some of our members are still shoveling snow (especially that late winter, heavy wet snow - be careful!), others are seeing the first signs of spring. Here's a poem to give hope to the shovelers and perhaps some familiarity to those in warmer climes:
"Early Spring Night" by Viola Paradise

The cool spring night smells good,
Smells of the brown earth
And the strong little seeds
Pushing up through the brown earth.

My soul swells with thoughts
Impalpable,
Melancholy, exalted,
Blurring me.

The soft scarce-stirring wind moves through my hair.
Perhaps they are not thoughts,
Those impalpable things which stir my soul.
Perhaps they are my senses
Pushing up like the strong little seeds
Through the brown earth.
