FLOWER ARRANGEMENT ON THE ALTAR Sunday morning is  in loving memory of Jean Taylor (1925-2017).

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM.   Children and youth age 3 through 12th grade are invited to join their parents for the first part of worship and gather in the front of the Sanctuary for Children's time. Children and youth will then leave with their teachers for their age-based groups in the Learning Center. The program will end at 11:15 a.m.
ELEMENTARY CHOIR (K through 5) rehearses from 11:15 - 11:45 a.m. in the Choir Room.

OPEN FINANCE MEETING  is next Sunday, January 21, after the church service in the Parish Community Hall.  The proposed 2018 church budget as well as the Outreach budget will be explained and we will vote on them. This is a Congregational meeting. We urge you to plan to attend.

FREE CONCERT at 2:00 p.m.  in the Sanctuary. You will be treated to an afternoon of music by Cantabile and many of our own musical talents.  Driving Out the Darkness, A Tribute to the Work of Martin Luther King Jr. All are welcome!


FOOTHILL'S ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER.   Sunday, January 28, in the Parish Community Hall. The theme this year is Adventuring Forward Together.   We gather at 5 p.m. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.. Roasted chicken will be served. You are invited to bring a side dish, salad or dessert. Please join us at this Annual Meeting as we reflect on the past year, elect officers and board members, vote on the proposed bylaws changes, and discuss our plans for 2018.   Childcare will be provided. Signup in the Courtyard.

GAIT AND BALANCE CLASS.  Mondays and Thursdays, February 5, 8, 12 & 15, 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. The class is for both new participants and those who have taken previous classes. The format will include instruction in breathing and relaxation techniques, coordination and balance exercises, and Tai Chi movements. You learn skills for good balance in sitting, standing and transferring and how to walk in balance with a safe gait pattern. The cost is $40 for the 4 sessions. All money collected will be given to the Outreach Board designated for the Child Advocates. To enroll in the class please sign up on the clip board in the courtyard or contact Susana or Ann Oliver.


YOUTH FELLOWSHIP.  Happy New Year! We will next gather on this Sunday, January 14th. We meet on Sundays from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Come and join in the conversation! Friends are welcome. Contact Rev. Melanie Weiner.
CREATING YOUR OWN PERSONAL CARDS with Sandra Overton meets each Monday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. Contact Sandra.
LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY meets Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. in the Maple Room. Rev. Melanie Weiner facilitates the discussion, focusing on the scriptures that form the theme of the next Sunday's worship and sermon. New participants are always welcome.   
BOOK GROUP meets the 4th Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room. Our next discussion will be on The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the World of Consciousness, by Sy Montgomery. Questions? Call Ann Nelson.

JOYFUL NOISE HANDBELL CHOIR rehearses on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Come and be part of this exciting and dynamic group of musicians! 

CHOIR REHEARSAL.  Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. If you like to sing, Foothills has a choir for you! Our 'main' chancel choir sings on the first and third Sundays, our smaller, more demanding chamber choir on the fourth Sunday, and our open-to-all folk choir on the fifth Sunday. Not every choir rehearses every Wednesday. For more information, talk with Fred Cummins.
TRUTHSEEKERS are watching and discussing TED Talks, carefully chosen to spark discussion and open our minds and hearts to new ways of encountering faith, family, and community.  All are welcome to join us on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m-12:15 p.m.. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Melanie.
