CIRCLE OF WOMEN will meet Monday, December 4, from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Meeting Room for a simple potluck and sharing.  This "Circle" will be our holiday time together and final gathering of the year.  Please come and join us in celebration as Patty Ebner brings us an inspirational message. Questions? Contact Irene Ogawa.
KNITTING CIRCLE  will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, in the Fireside Room. Knit a prayer shawl, a baby blanket, or your own project. Questions? Contact Lisa DiTiberio.
                         UPCOMING EVENTS
CHRISTMAS TEA is Tuesday, December 12, at noon at the home of Bill and Kathi Closs. Everyone is invited to bring some finger food to share and a gift card to donate to the Community Services Agency. CSA requests gift cards for a vendor that offers goods that are appealing to teens. Examples include Amazon, Target, Kohl's, Bath & Body Works, Old Navy, and The Gap. In lieu of a gift card, a check made out to "Community Services Agency" is appreciated. There will be a short musical program, and the singing of Christmas carols. For those of you who have trouble negotiating the stairs, the gate will be open to allow  you to drive around to the garage end of the house and enter on a level surface. Car pool from church at 11:45 a.m. the latest.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT . Our Intergenerational Christmas Pageant is on Sunday, December 17. People of all ages are encouraged to choose a traditional or nontraditional pageant character and explore that character's understanding of the Christmas story.  Please contact Pastor Melanie to participate.

Beautiful red poinsettias in our sanctuary are a tradition each holiday season. We will also have a full-sized tree in the Fireside Room to make the season even brighter. This year, please notice the glittered pinecones and paper chains that will be created by the families at today's Advent Event. The Altar Guild invites you to help defray the expense of these holiday heralds by sending a contribution to its "Joyful Holiday Remembrance Fund."  Make a check out to "Foothills Church" with "Joyful Fund" in the memo line. Please be sure to include the name(s) of loved ones you wish to honor or remember during the holidays. These names will be listed each week of December in our Sunday bulletin.  A big Advent thank you from the Altar Guild!

DONATIONS FOR THE LITTLE CHURCH.  With the holidays are upon us, our little church that houses donated non-perishable food items for Community Services Agency is empty. Please check your pantry and help us to make Thanksgiving and Christmas merry for others.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP. We meet each Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Want some say in what we do this year? Come and join in the conversation! Friends are welcome. Contact Rev. Melanie Weiner.
CREATING YOUR OWN PERSONAL CARDS with Sandra Overton meets each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. All are welcome. Contact Sandra Overton.
LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY meets Tuesdays at 3 p.m. in the Maple Room. Rev. Melanie Weiner facilitates the discussion, focusing on the scriptures that form the theme of the next Sunday's worship and sermon. New participants are always welcome. In December, we will meet the first two weeks, then break for the holidays.
BOOK GROUP meets the 4th Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room. We will not meet in December. Our January discussion will be on The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the World of Consciousness, by Sy Montgomery. Questions? Call Ann Nelson.
JOYFULL NOISE HANDBELL CHOIR rehearses 6 p.m. Wednesdays in the Meeting Room. Come and be part of this exciting and dynamic group of musicians!

IF YOU LIKE TO SING, Foothills has a choir for you! Our open-to-all, no-rehearsal-required 'easy' choir generally sings on the first Sunday of the month, our chancel choir on the third Sunday and our smaller, more demanding chamber choir on the fourth Sunday. We rehearse Wednesdays at 7:30, but not every choir rehearses every Wednesday. For more information, talk to Fred Cummins.

T RUTHSEEKERS are watching and discussing TED Talks, carefully chosen to spark discussion and open our minds and hearts to new ways of encountering faith, family, and community.  All are welcome to join us on Thursdays from 11:00-12:15. We are meeting the first two weeks in December, then not meeting until the new year. If you have questions or need childcare so that you can attend, please contact Pastor Melanie.
THE BUSY BEES meet each Friday at 9 a.m. (or work at their own convenience to tend their assigned area.) We prune, sweep and rake around the church so that it looks special and loved on Sundays. Contact Sandra Overton.
