SUNDAY SERVICE WITH THE REV. EVELYN VIGIL. Sermon:  Signs and Wonders.  Scripture: 2 Kings 2:1-12, Mark 9:2-9. Music: The Joyful Noise Handbell Choir, under the direction of P.J. Grove. Anthem: Lift Every Voice and Sing, Johnson arr Grove.

A FORUM ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING  MOVING BEYOND IMPASSE is Sunday after church, in the Sanctuary. Pat Showalter and Sue Russell will share their strategies and actions regarding needs, availability, financing and legislation. Lack of affordable housing concerns the Justice Issues Study Group since it affects our local workers and our community. We are fortunate to have these women sharing their expertise with us. Pleads join!

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM.   Children and youth age 3 through 12th grade are invited to join their parents for the first part of worship and gather in the front of the Sanctuary for Children's time. Children and youth will then leave with their teachers for their age-based groups in the Learning Center. The program will end at 11:15 a.m.
 
ELEMENTARY CHOIR (K through 5) rehearses from 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. in the Choir Room.
 
                                     THIS WEEK
                                February 12-17, 2018

GAIT AND BALANCE CLASS is Monday and Thursday, February 12 and 15, 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. on Monday and 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The class is for both new participants and those who have taken previous classes. The format will include instruction in breathing and relaxation techniques, coordination and balance exercises, and Tai Chi movements. You learn skills for good balance in sitting, standing and transferring and how to walk in balance with a safe gait pattern. The cost is $40 for the 4 sessions. All money collected will be given to the Outreach Board designated for the Child Advocates. To enroll in the class please sign up on the clip board in the courtyard or contact Susana or Ann Oliver.
 
WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP will meet at noon on Tuesday, February 13. Bring a bag lunch and join us in the Fireside Room.
 
ASH WEDNEAY SERVICE is 5:00 p.m. on February 14. Join us for communion and a traditional service of ashes, as we mark the beginning of the season of Lent.
 
MEN'S BREAKFAST is 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, at the Original Pancake House on S. San Antonio Road. Come join the fellowship. To celebrate Valentine's Day, ladies are welcome. Questions, contact Charlie Golden.

LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY meets Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. in the Maple Room. Rev. Melanie Weiner facilitates the discussion, focusing on the scriptures that form the theme of the next Sunday's worship and sermon. New participants are always welcome.   

BOOK GROUP meets the fourth Tuesday. Our next discussion will be Everything I Never Told You, by Celeste Ng. Questions? Talk to Ann Nelson.

KNITTING CIRCLE will meet on the second Wednesday of the month, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Come join us with knitting projects or to learn to knit or crochet. Questions? Call Lisa DiTiberio.

JOYFUL NOISE HANDBELL CHOIR rehearses on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Come and be part of this exciting and dynamic group of musicians!
 
CHOIR REHEARSAL is Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. If you like to sing, Foothills has a choir for you! Our 'main' chancel choir sings on the first and third Sundays, our smaller, more demanding chamber choir on the fourth Sunday, and our open-to-all folk choir on the fifth Sunday. Not every choir rehearses every Wednesday. For more information, talk with Fred Cummins.
 
TRUTHSEEKERS are watching and discussing TED Talks, carefully chosen to spark discussion and open our minds and hearts to new ways of encountering faith, family, and community.  All are welcome to join us on Thursdays from 11:00-12:15. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Melanie.
