INTERESTED IN MEMBERSHIP AT FOOTHILLS?   May 6 at 11:30 a.m., in the Maple room, we will hold an Inquirers' Class for people interested in learning more about what it means to be a member of this church and our denomination, the United Church of Christ. This is an opportunity to talk with the minister and lay leaders of the church about how to deepen your walk of faith in this spiritual community called Foothills Congregational Church. Talk to Pastor Chris if you are interested. Childcare will be provided.

FOOTHILLS SERVICE TRIP DINNER AND AUCTION IS SUNDAY, MAY 20. This year, our service trip is planned for July 15-20 to Navajo Community in Black Mesa, Az. This is a fun (fund) raiser event you don't want to miss!

THE RELAY FOR LIFE  for Los Altos will be at Sunnyvale Middle School from 10 am Saturday, June 2nd. You are invited to the Golden's home (565 University Avenue) on Saturday, May 26 from 5 - 8 pm to create your own messages of hope to honor a cancer survivor or in memory of one who lost the battle with cancer. We will decorate luminaria bags that will line the relay path during the hours of darkness. The MaCaJo Trio will join us to share their wonderful music during the evening. Hearty hors d' oeuvres and drinks will be served and all materials and the bags will be provided. Please let the Goldens know if you think you will attend this event so they will have enough food and materials needed:  jgolden@latd-llc.com   or sign up in the courtyard. If you  are unable to attend, you can send the names of those you wish to honor to Jean - luminaria will be made for you - ACS suggests a $10 donation for each luminaria.

RELAY 4.0 - A WALK IN SUNNYVALE.     The annual Relay For Life, our fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society, has teams from Cupertino and Milpitas joining last year's combined Los Altos, Mtn.View, and Sunnyvale teams as the Silicon Valley North. Relay for Life is on Saturday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 3rd.  Starting 10:00 am Saturday with the Survivor Lap, lighting the Luminaria at dusk, and finishing Sunday morning at 10:00 am.   Relocated to Sunnyvale Middle School,  1080 Mango Ave. near Mary, Remington & Fremont Aves.  Please consider making a donation. Write a check to the American Cancer Society or go to     www.relayforlife.org/SiliconValleyNorthCA and select our  United We Stride  team.  If you would like a Relay t-shirt, please donate during April ($101 minimum) to ensure the correct size. Survivors get a complimentary t-shirt, if registered. As a fun twist this year, since every dollar counts, would you please add an additional dollar to your donation?  Let's make those dollars visible and really add up! Questions: Contact  Richard Moll or Nikki Hensley.
