FROM GAYLE
Dear Ones,
Two people I love very much were in a car accident last weekend.  There were some tense moments as they were taken to the St E's trauma center, and they would not let me see them while they were being "worked on".  I was beside myself with anxiety.  Everything turned out OK, but as we waited for test results and the end of a period of observation, I could hear rooms around us where things were not going to be OK.  As I prayed for all the people in that ward, I realized that we are all mortal, formed of the earth and to the earth we shall return.  I am telling everyone how much I love them this week, holding the fragile life we live as so very precious, and grateful for the safety and health of my loved ones.  I hope you do the same.  Tell the ones you love and appreciate how special they are to you.  Over and over and over.

You are all so special to me and I love you!  Please have a safe holiday!!  I will see you in church.  Gayle+

Many thanks to Jim Griffith who is heading up this project!!
These are the items suggested for the VA Student Center,
these items do not need to be new but in good shape.
Large serving spoons, forks, spatulas, tongs,
kitchen fork, ladles, can opener, cutting board or mat,
cake or pie server, ice cream scoop and pizza cutter.
They would like some medium to large bowls,
flat dishes and flat trays.
Also a large griddle and crock pots and BBQ tools including a meat thermometer, but no BBQ d/t the fact they are not permitted to store any flammables on the grounds.  The BBQ we saw was brought in for the day from one of the staff.   A couple of short but heavier extension cords.
