THE EAGLE HUNTRESS
Set against the breath-taking expanse of the Mongolian steppe, THE EAGLE HUNTRESS  features some of the most awe-inspiring cinematography ever captured in a documentary, giving this intimate tale of a young girl's quest the dramatic force of an epic narrative film. While there are many old Kazakh eagle hunters who vehemently reject the idea of any female taking part in their ancient tradition, Aisholpan's father Nurgaiv believes that a girl can do anything a boy can, as long as she's determined.

It seems impossible to conceive of training wild eagles, with their seven-foot wingspans and razor-sharp talons. Yet the Kazakh people have been doing so for centuries, and the practitioners in this province of Mongolia are the most faithful keepers of the sacred practice.   Perched precariously on the side of a mountain, with a gigantic mother eagle circling overhead, the brave girl perseveres in the face of danger and manages to capture her own baby eagle. And this is only the beginning of her adventure: under her father's tutelage, she remains tenaciously committed to the intense training necessary to her eaglet's development.

THE EAGLE HUNTRESS  is executive produced and narrated by STAR WARS's Daisy Ridley. Like Ridley's character "Rey," Aisholpan never doubts her ability to be as strong or brave as any boy. She recognizes no obstacles and refuses to have her ambition denied. While she practices an ancient art, Aisholpan's story is a modern and inspiring one because she represents a world where a young girl's dreams-no matter how challenging-can come true.

THE BRAND  NEW TESTAMENT

THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT begins with one simple conceit:  God exists, and He's a jerk. He lives in a high-rise apartment in Brussels and never gets out of His pajamas. He takes sadistic delight in dreaming up new "laws" to torment humanity, and He's a petty tyrant to his wife and ten year-old daughter, Ea. Like her brother before her, Ea has had enough of her Father's abuse and when she spies the right opportunity, she hacks into His computer and leaks to the entire world-by text message-the only thing He has over them: their inevitable death date.

Ea, after escaping and with her Father in pursuit, gathers apostles and writes her own New Testament to try to fix the mess her Father has made of humanity. Her six apostles -a one-armed woman, a sex maniac, a killer, a woman who has been left by her husband, an office worker, and a gender dysphoric child-learn to celebrate life and love, and provide us with Jaco Van Dormael's dark, witty and eccentric answer to the loaded question: what would you do if you knew exactly how much time you had left to live?

A Golden Globe Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film and starring the legendary Catherine Deneuve, The Brand New Testament is a wild and irreverent satire.

MOONLIGHT
A timeless story of human connection and self-discovery,
Moonlight  chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami.

At once a vital portrait of contemporary African American life and an intensely personal and poetic meditation on identity, family, friendship, and love, Moonlight is a groundbreaking piece of cinema that reverberates with deep compassion and universal truths. Anchored by extraordinary performances from a tremendous ensemble cast, Jenkins's staggering, singular vision is profoundly moving in its portrayal of the moments, people, and unknowable forces that shape our lives and make us who we are.

Delivering a restrained yet intoxicating story with genuine emotional power. Moonlight, a film set and made in Miami by native Miami filmmakers- writer/director Barry Jenkins, playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney and co-producer Andrew Hevia- is consistently surprising and brimming with formal invention, from camera movement to the richly evocative imagery. Grand in scope but intimate in execution, it's a film you will be unable to forget.

MANCHESTER BY THE SEA
After the death of his older brother Joe, Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) is shocked that Joe has made him sole guardian of his teenage nephew Patrick.

Lee Chandler is a brooding, irritable loner who works as a handyman for a Boston apartment block. One damp winter day he gets a call summoning him to his hometown, north of the city. His brother's heart has given out suddenly, and he's been named guardian to his 16-year-old nephew. As if losing his only sibling and doubts about raising a teenager weren't enough, his return to the past re-opens an unspeakable tragedy.

Casey Affleck's astonishing performance captures all the substance and crumbling complexity of Lee-a guy frozen in anguish and barely holding it together-who must now step beyond self-imposed isolation to connect with his nephew. Writer-director Kenneth Lonergan ( You Can Count On Me) masterfully depicts human brokenness and the possibility of transformation through subtle, small moments between characters. There are no quick fixes in the working-class New England town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, just the imperfect struggle to meet loss with integrity and decency, day by day.
