Friday 10th

Stress Busters: MASSAGE THERAPY 11:00am-2:00pm. Student Center Middle Plaza Room. Stressed out for finals? Come get a quick, free massage before heading off to that final. Sponsored by OSLA.

Speaking of African Material Cultures and Histories. 1:00-6:00p.m. Leo A. Guthart Cultural Center. Hofstra University: African Studies Program and the Department of Romance languages presents Speaking of African Material Cultures and Histories: A workshop for new research in African Studies. Hofstra Ice Hockey vs. SUNY Albany. 8:00p.m. Long Beach Arena.. Take a study break with Hofstra Ice Hockey. A Fan Bus picking up at the Student Center bus stop at 6:30pm will bring you to the game and back to campus afterwards. $5 for Hofstra students, $10 for non-Hofstra students. Proceeds will be split between the American Cancer Society and the team. January Session 2011. Classes run from January 3-14, 2011. January Session is the perfect opportunity to take new or popular courses and earn up to three credits in two weeks. Hofstra offers a broad range of courses with an emphasis on diversity, including study abroad and distance learning (online) courses. Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Columbus Circle Holiday Market. 10am-8pm daily. Columbus Circle, Central Park South at Central Park West. Central Park is a favorite holiday destination for many, both for its carriage rides through the snow and for the Columbus Circle Holiday Market. Sunday, December 12th

Dyker Heights Christmas Lights. Main concentration of lights: 83rd St to 86th St between Tenth and Twelfth Aves, Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. Daily sunset-midnight. You'll see homes bedecked in outrageous decorations before stopping at Mona Lisa Pastry Shop for a cappuccino and, yes, cannoli. Peep 29-foot-tall toy soldiers and an oversize Santa at the Polizzotto home (1145 84th St), and Scrooge and his Christmas ghosts at 1062 84th Street.
