    75 Stories for 75 Years. 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. David Filderman Gallery, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, Ninth Floor. In celebration of Hofstra University's 75th anniversary, this exhibition, guest curated by Geri Solomon, assistant dean of special collections and Hofstra University archivist, is drawn from the University Archives collection, which focuses on the history of the University, and highlights 75 stories from the University's past. Through the use of photographs, original documents, memorabilia and objects, the exhibition tells the stories of William and Kate Hofstra, the University presidents, and Hofstra students, faculty and staff. Included are anecdotes and descriptions of events that many will have forgotten, such as: Who were the founding sisters of Alpha Theta Beta? Who were James Barnard, George Williams and Olive Plunkett? What was the concept behind Aymar Embury's design of the campus? For more information: (516)463-5672.

    Ecstatic Music Festival. Merkin Concert Hall - Kaufman Center, 129 West 67th Street (67/Bway),New York, NY. With an emphasis on genre-bending, originality and spirited collaborations, the Ecstatic Music Festival will make its New York debut from January to March at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center. The concert series will feature more than a dozen exciting performances uniting artists from the worlds of classical music and alternative pop and rock.     St. Patrick's Day Parade. Fifth Ave. and 44th St., Manhattan, NY. Join in the celebration of all things Irish at the annual New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, the world's largest. The parade, which marches up Fifth Avenue, starting at 44th Street at 11am, draws more than 200,000 participants (and 2 million onlookers).
