Mindfulness Meditation reminds us to take a moment to pause and appreciate all of the good things in our life both large and small. This group will focus on learning ways to stay in the present moment rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on the past.     Assess Yourself Series: PERSONALITY. Common Hour. The Career Center. Your personality drives your energy and how you interact with the world around you. Success in a career, like everything in life, is driven by personality compatibility. This workshop helps students self-assess their personality utilizing the Myers-Briggs assessment. Students will learn to better understand themselves and how to apply what they've learned to a career path. PERSONALITY is the final of four workshops in the Assess Yourself Series this month.     75 Stories for 75 Years. 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. David Filderman Gallery, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, Ninth Floor. In celebration of Hofstra University's 75th anniversary, this exhibition, guest curated by Geri Solomon, assistant dean of special collections and Hofstra University archivist, is drawn from the University Archives collection, which focuses on the history of the University, and highlights 75 stories from the University's past. Through the use of photographs, original documents, memorabilia and objects, the exhibition tells the stories of William and Kate Hofstra, the University presidents, and Hofstra students, faculty and staff. Included are anecdotes and descriptions of events that many will have forgotten, such as: Who were the founding sisters of Alpha Theta Beta? Who were James Barnard, George Williams and Olive Plunkett? What was the concept behind Aymar Embury's design of the campus? For more information: (516)463-5672.

The eighth season of this Brooklyn-centric fashion-meets-Conceptual art show is hosting 14 designers spread over two nights of raw and experimental talent. Runway shows from up-and-comers mixed with more-established favorites, including Ruffeo Hearts Lil' Snotty '80s Technicolor designs, Nathalie Kraynina gowns and streetwear, Alex Campaz menswear and La China Loca headgear.
