Can you believe it?! Advent is here! During this time of year we are reminded of the Hope, Love, Joy and Peace that only comes through knowing Christ as Lord! It was exciting this past weekend to begin the Advent season with the annual Christmas concerts of the Lexington County Choral Society. Little did I know, when I started this community organization 21 years ago, how much God would bless us. Our special guests this year were the Lexington District One Honors Children's Choir. We had a combined group of about 140 adults and children raising their voices in praise. Thank you Saxe Gotha family for being a host to our concerts for the many years that I have served as your Director of Worship and even before that. It is indeed a blessing to help bring the community into our church sanctuary, many of whom may not have been to a church in a while.
And now you have a unique opportunity to invite friends and family and neighbors and others in our community to hear the message of Christ proclaimed through our annual Worship Arts Team offering for Christmas 2017. "FOREVER GLORIA" is our cantata this year. This is a comprehensive Worship Ministry effort involving our Sanctuary Choir, Youth Ensembles, Children's Choirs, Drama Team and Orchestra. Our story this year revolves around a single mom, Julie, trying to raise a young high school son, Max. She is a new waitress in the local neighborhood restaurant, "The Grill". As the story unfolds some of the guys from the local church choir have a unique opportunity to share the love of Christ with Julie and Max. The surprise ending shows that God is indeed working in the hearts of people around us even if we sometimes feel that our witness falls on deaf ears. We just need to keep sharing the good news that Jesus really did come to die for us. We truly are saved by grace!
Please pray with us and embrace with us as a ministry that our efforts will be a great opportunity for evangelism here at Saxe Gotha. Invite everyone you know to these special Dramatic Musical offerings. Share the story of Jesus working in the lives of everyday people. Share the story of His love for us.
Share "FOREVER GLORIA".
