Dear Friends,

Christians all over the United States of America will be gathering on Thursday, May 4th for the National Day of Prayer.  We would like to encourage you to take time out of your day on May 4th to pray for our country.  We would also like to invite you to come to the Light House Auditorium that day (from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm) for a quiet space for prayer and reflection. There will be prayer stations set up in the Light House auditorium and you can come at any time.  Prayer stations give people an opportunity to encounter their faith in a way that is tangible, meaningful and reflective. By participating in prayer stations, prayer can be inter-generational, reflective yet active and creative. These five prayer stations will be appropriate not only for adults but also for youth and children, so please bring your family and friends.

This day of prayer has been organized and created for our church family by our new Young Adult Ministry (YAMs).  Our YAMs meet at least monthly for Bible study, service outreach and social opportunities.  This group is for both members and non-members, men and women, singles and married couples.  If you are between the ages of 21 - 35, or if you know of someone who is, we'd love to invite them to our next YAM gathering.  For more information about YAMs, please contact Micah McCall  Mallory.micah@gmail.com, Elizabeth Sturgis  elizabeth.sturgis3@gmail.com, Kalie Wehunt  kaliewehunt@gmail.com, or Helen Harrison Coker  hcoker@saxegotha.org.

Please bring your family and friends and join us in praying for our country on Thursday May 4th.  Please also remember to pray for our men and women in uniform, which will be our monthly prayer focus for May.  A list of specific names of our church's servicemen and women is always included in this weekly newsletter and the bulletin.  Thank you for your commitment to lifting up our country and these brave men and women.

Grace and peace,
Helen Harrison Coker

TABLES OF 8: Fellowship Opportunity
Get to know others in the church, build new friendships, and enjoy a monthly meal at someone's home. By participating in this unique small group ministry; we are following in the footsteps of Jesus who so often enjoyed meals with his friends. It's as simple as that-the simple act yet enriching experience of sitting down together over a meal and building community.

A Table of Eight grouping is assigned for a three-month session (June, July, August). Deadline for the spring session is May 14th. How it works: The Adult Ministries team will group eight people from those who sign up. If a couple signs up, they are counted as two of the eight. Each Table of Eight decides the day and time they'll meet.  Hosting is rotated among the group. The host is responsible for the main dish and beverages, and the remaining members bring the rest of the meal, e.g. appetizer, salad and bread, vegetable, and dessert. Contact:  Helen Harrison Coker at hcoker@saxegotha.org
