Summer is upon us, and that means our students have more
free time than they know what to do with. We, in the youth ministry, view this as our prime time of the year because we can grab as much time with them as possible. I'm so excited with the events that the interns have planned as ways to connect with the students. We have weekly events like Sunday School, Lunch Bunch, Small Groups and Weekly Wednesdays, as well as a number of special events. In June alone we have:
- June 16: Middle School Movie Night - A night of fellowship for our Middle Schoolers. Open to grades rising 6-9.
- June 23: High School Movie Night - A night of fellowship for our High Schoolers. Open to grades rising 9 and up.
- June 30: Beach Day - VBS youth volunteers will be headed to Folly Beach as a thank you for all of their work through the week.
This is just how we'll be kicking of the summer. We'll have even more events going on throughout the summer, including a Carowinds day, Late Night, Lock In, Mystery Trip and a Shealy's/Big Mo night. We won't have a shortage of fun this summer!
We also have 3 big trips this summer. From June 19-23, some students will attend The Edge, a middle school conference. July 10-15 will see some of our High School students heading to the RYM Youth Conference. From July 31 to August 4, we'll have students doing Local Missions Week around Lexington and Columbia.
Please pray for our students through the summer as they spend time in service, learning and fellowship.

College students- Having a difficult time plugging in with a church? You're not alone. For years, one of the hardest things to do for college students is to find a church and then, if that isn't hard enough, to find ways to plug in. Join us
Sunday mornings at 9:45 am beginning Sunday, June 4, as we begin our summer college SS class discussing what it would look like to ask a different question about finding a church. Instead of trying to find a church, what would it look like to be the church? What exactly is the church and why does it matter so much to us? Hope to see you there!

Special Note of Thanks:
We are just back from vacation and Linda and I want to say a special thanks to those of you who came to our property and worked so hard to trim away a 100 year old oak tree that has fallen! We saw pictures of the tree. It must have been 75 feet tall! Judging from the root ball and stump left, we can only imagine that it appeared to be an impossible task. We are blessed to have wonderful church members from Saxe Gotha who only believe in possibilities. It is truly a miracle that the tree did not hit the house or do any kind of damage to the property. God is good all the time!
Thanks for sharing your Christian witness through this act of kindness!
