Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ,

Summer is a time when many folks may be out of town taking vacations. As you know, Saxe Gotha's ministries and weekly services continue!

Giving to the church typically drops during the summer, and we are seeing the effect of this right now.

If you have made a commitment to the 2017 church budget and are up to date with your giving, thank you!

If you have not made a commitment or are behind with giving, it is never too late!

Here are Options to Commit and Give:
Automatic bank draft offers a convenient way to keep up your commitment to the church budget even when out of town.
Text2Give - Directions under the GIVE tab on the website.
Worship service - Cash or check via our weekly offering.
Mail - SGPC, 5503 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC 29072

Debt Free in Three-Year 1:
During the campaign year ONE for Debt Free in Three, Saxe Gotha has taken a substantial chunk out of our mortgage principal. Gifts to DF3 are an "over and above" commitment to the yearly church budget. The yearly church budget takes priority!

Your regular and consistent giving has an amazing IMPACT on God's work here at Saxe Gotha. Your giving makes all the difference. Please pray that God will take these gifts offered and multiply them!

With your help, let's make this the best summer of giving!

In Christ's Love,
The Stewardship Team
Prayer Focus for July:  Please pray for Missions and Outreach Ministries.

Christian Love & Sympathy is extended to Dottie Sistare on the death of her sister, Gary Kirchner on the death of his father, and Helen Harrison Coker on the death of her father.

New Members:  Michael and Terrie Walley and their daughter, Bella Grace will join Saxe Gotha on July 16th at the AWE service.

Saxe Gotha Choirs will sing the "National Anthem" and "God Bless America" at the Lexington Blowfish game on Saturday night, July 15th.  Come out and support the group!

2017 Mother's Day Offering: The Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina would like to thank us for our congregation's gift of $638.  The support of congregations like ours is important to sustaining our shared ministry to older adults.
CHANGE FOR SOUTH SUDAN  is this Sunday, July 16th.
What began many years ago as "Cents for Sudan" is our method of funding our work in South Sudan.  It began as a children's program where pennies were collected and a counting party was held.  As our effort grew, we became "Change for Sudan." Then, when South Sudan gained its independence from Sudan, it became "Change for South Sudan."

"Change" at first meant that we were responding to a greater need with "change" instead of "Cents".  Now as we continue to mature, "Change" reflects our efforts to bring about change in the horribly war-torn nation.

Our "Change for South Sudan" program supports two South Sudanese pastors Rev. Orozu (which means "Dog") Lokine and Rev. James Zeelu who are our local missionaries in Boma State.  They seek to bring about peace through a program we call "peace through evangelism" which targets the very volatile youth.  We also support education, mission and peacemaking through our partnerships with the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan.

Here are three specific ways that you can help.

1.   Continue your generous support of our work.  Your support is critical.

2.   We need someone to join us who can create a logo and a letterhead, create and maintain a website, and help us to raise statewide awareness.

3.   Last, we ask for your special prayers for our partner Rt. Rev. Peter Gai who is both the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan and Chairman of the South Sudan Council of Churches.  He is in the hospital with a badly swollen leg with an unknown cause.

Fall Mother's Morning Out! We are excited to announce that our fall program will run for 13 weeks on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am-1 pm. We will begin on Sept. 12th and end on Dec. 14th. You can register for one or both days. This program is for children ages 3 months to rising 3's. The cost of the program is $240 for one day (Tuesday or Thursday) or $440 for both days. Please contact Alisa Dunovant at [email protected] if interested.
