Gulf Coast Procurement Opportunities Conference and Matchmaker
The  Gulf Coast Procurement Opportunities Conference & Matchmaker, an event to help small businesses interested in doing work with the government, will be Feb. 1 & 2, 2016, at the Mobile Marriott, 3101 Airport Blvd., Mobile, AL 36606. CLICK HERE for more information!

On Monday, Feb. 1, several workshops related to government procurement will be presented. There is no charge to attend the workshops but registration in advance is encouraged due to space limitations. Workshops will include, among others, Doing Business with the GSA, Department of Transportation's DBE Certification, Navigating the Internet to Find Procurement Opportunities, and Doing Business with the City of Mobile.

The matchmaker will be Tuesday, Feb. 2, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Matchmakers are organized like speed dating and give small-business owners the opportunity to market their products and services one-on-one to many government agencies and prime contractors in a short amount of time. The cost to participate for businesses is $50 per person, which includes lunch.

The North Baldwin Beauty Review was organized to highlight and reward the beauty, grace, and intelligence of the young ladies of North Baldwin County. The goal of this pageant is for the contestants to have a rewarding, fun experience that helps them to build confidence and poise, with the message of the program being that beauty comes from within.

The pageant is open to 3rd through 12th grade students who reside in north Baldwin County. Students can be enrolled in public, private or home-school programs. 

Applications for the 2016 North Baldwin Beauty Review are available by clicking here or can be picked up at most north Baldwin schools, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and at Bay Minette City Hall. 


Baldwin County Education Summit, Friday, February 5th

Keynote speaker, Jamie Vollmer, author of Schools Cannot Do It Alone , is a former businessman and attorney who has spent the last twenty years working with educators, business leaders, and community groups across the nation to secure understanding, trust, permission, and support for public education.  Never has there been a more critical time to unite our community in support of our public schools. 

The main objective of the Summit this year is UNITY!  Vollmer offers teachers, administrators, board members, and their allies (the community) a practical program to secure the understanding, trust, permission, and support they need for the system and to increase student success. 



The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Meets again on Monday, 2/1/2016
