AAI Program: Get Involved!
Members of CBI continue to join with members of the Islamic Center of Monterey and members of a couple Christian Churches for half a day of learning about each other and helping feed the hungry in our community. We spend time visiting and sharing in "buddy groups" and then made a meal that we enjoyed before bringing the meal to the homeless.
If you are interested in joining in future programs with AAI and helping prepare another meal please contact Rabbi Greenbaum. We have set the next program for Sunday March 26. The tentative schedule includes participants (12-15 people from each of the 3 religious groups) gathering at approximately 3:00 at a site to be announced, and spend an hour visiting with friends from other faiths as they learn a little bit about each other. The second hour will be spent preparing a huge meal before we enjoy dining together. Close to 6:00 we all will pack up all the food and then a group will bring it to the Warming Shelter in Salinas where we will feed approximately 100 individuals a delicious dinner.
The menu and responsibilities of each community are still in the planning stages. If you are interested in participating this month, make sure to contact Rabbi Greenbaum who is coordinating CBI's participation in this interfaith program. Let's join together to build bridges of understanding between our communities as we work together to serve the hungry.
