CBI Welcomes Scholar-in-Residence Jacqui Silver
Saturday, October 21, 7:00 PM

With its glitter, glamour and sparkle, the great Broadway Musical is beloved and admired throughout the world. To go to a Broadway show is to anticipate the pleasure of taking a journey into a magic land of enchantment. Join Jacqui Silver for her return scholar-in-residence presentation October 21, 7:00 PM.  She is one of today's most dynamic and versatile pianists and storytellers, while she takes you on an extraordinary journey through the history of the Broadway Musical, from its very beginnings up to today's shows.. Thrill to the splendid music of Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber and so many others! Her December 5, 2015 presentation as part of CBI's Adult Education program presentation got wonderfully strong and positive reviews.  Her presentation was a revue "Best of Broadway", the subtext of which is the enormous influence Jews have had in shaping Broadway.

Because of the Ted Orliss Scholar-in-Residence fund, CBI is able to welcome scholars like Jacqui Silver to our community.  This will be a special evening for all those who participate.  Please share this information with your neighbors and friends.

NO TICKETS are needed!  All are welcome to attend!

Save  October 26 for a special evening, when we welcome two Israeli Soldiers to speak at CBI.  Come hear the stories of these individuals, discussing their struggles, successes, military service, hopes and dreams and learn what it is actually like to live in a country that is the subject of so much discussion in the media and on campuses.  This event free, all are welcome to attend.
A special thank you to Stand with Us and our Israeli Action team for bringing this informative event to our community.

Consider Making a Gift to CBI during the
High Holidays

Each year during the High Holy Day Season we give everyone an opportunity to support Israel and our Congregation.  Below are two suggestions allowing you to support Israel, and at the same time help Congregation Beth Israel grow its General Endowment Fund that will secure our future.

One way of assisting us is by purchasing Israel Bonds and donating it to CBI General Endowment Fund.  By purchasing a bond you are investing in the country of Israel and CBI at the same time.  These bonds can be purchased in your name, or used as a gift for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Another option is by making a donation directly to CBI General Endowment Fund.  In supporting this fund over the next few years, we have the potential to pay for programming expenses for future generations.  Currently, the General Endowment Fund has approximately $180,000.  Our goal is to build it to $2,000,000.
