This Week at Christ Church
Second Sunday after Pentecost

This Sunday, we welcome Rob Scheer as our guest preacher! Scheer founded Comfort Cases, a non-profit organization that provides backpacks with essential items like toiletries, pajamas, activities and other items for children in foster care. The charity went from providing about 300 kits in 2013 to donating over 11,000 to foster kids in 32 states last year. Rob is an outspoken advocate for children in foster care and speaks all over the country. His work with Comfort Cases has been featured on The Ellen Show, The Today Show, and in the Washington Post. He is a proud Navy veteran, and lives with his husband Reece and their four children in Darnestown, MD.

Join us in the Undercroft this Sunday for our Comfort Cases Packing Party! Help us pack pajamas, toiletries, and other comforting items into duffel bags for kids entering foster care. We will also continue collecting the items that go into Comfort Cases through this Sunday - please find the shopping list linked here. Donated items can be left in the baskets in the vestibule up through Saturday; any donations brought Sunday should go in the Undercroft in preparation for the Packing Party.

Bible Study: Join us in the parish library at 4 pm on Sunday as we continue our study of Exodus. Questions?   June 10th: Please join us on the lawn (weather permitting) after the 10 am service. We will celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer with an ice cream social - all parish children and youth welcome!
