After tearing it up in the Lone Star State and across the country for nearly two years, Austin's Stone River Boys have issued their recording bow Love on the Dial. The Texas-based quintet features the talents of two well-traveled roots music practitioners - guitarist Dave Gonzalez, formerly a driving force in the Hacienda Brothers and the Paladins, andvocalist Mike Barfield, "The Tyrant of Texas Funk" and onetime leader of the Hollisters. Together, Barfield and Gonzalez have fashioned a gutsy crossbreed of country and R&B they've labeled "country funk."

Greezy Wheels are among the last surviving performers of 'Armadillo Rock' still bringing it inSpune_scr_small

2012. Founding members Cleve, Lissa and Mary Hattersley still lead the band, which now includes Penny Jo Pullus on back-up vocals, John Jordan (Vanguards, Chris Duarte Group) on bass and John Bush (Edie Brickell And the New Bohemians) on drums.  As the unofficial Armadillo World Headquarters House Band in the 70's, Greezy Wheels opened or headlined first Austin gigs for the Flying Burrito Brothers, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Lee Lewis, Willis Alan Ramsey (headlined), Alvin Crow (headlined); and dozens of others.  A legend in her own right, Sweet Mary participated in some of the wildest jam sessions in the history of the Armadillo, with such as Jean Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa, Jerry Garcia, Leon Russell, Doug Sahm and dozens of others.

NEW SHOW!
DANA FALCONBERRY with WARREN JACKSON HEARNE, LE LEEK ELECTRIQUE - SAT AUG 11
Dana Falconberry's newest release, Though I Didn't Call It Came celebrates, explores, and at times laments the vast landscapes in which they are set. Touching on themes of childhood curiosity, mortality, and the aching beauty of solitude, the EP's songs interweave the human experience with the world surrounding it.  She guides her listeners down moonlit paths and sandy shores until they are standing right alongside her under the birches, wide-eyed and wondering at the eagles circling overhead.

THE SPRING STANDARDS - WED JUN 13

The following is a brief summation of the sounds and spirit of The Spring Standards. Born and bred in the Delaware Valley, this trio of songsters now call Brooklyn, New York their home, like much of their musical brethren. Comprised of a lass named Heather and two boys named James, the songs they Smith will Robb your heart, that much is Cleare. Brought up on the music of their elders, they drew much of their inspiration from those times, learning the power of song from artists you all know, The Beatles, James Taylor, Crosby, Stills and the other one. Longtime friends and cohorts, by the time any of us had heard of them, they'd been working on their craft and crafting their works for many years under many names, with their passion for vocal harmony always in their foremost thoughtsfor seven years.

POSSESSED BY PAUL JAMES / Delaney Davidson - FRI JUNE 22

Possessed By Paul James is the stage name of multi-instrumentalist Konrad Wert. He was raised Mennonite with Amish roots in the swamps of Immokalee, Florida and presently resides with his wife and two sons in the Hill Country of Texas.  Wert's performances are so energetic that he could easily be mistaken for a small crowd. His songs are very honest. Not only are they completely personal and sincere, but they transcend identity and touch on the human condition.  "Possessed is just... possessed by experiences and family (Paul and Melvin James)," Wert says. "...I connect with that, with the beauty of the brokenness, innocence and/or ugliness." PPJ has been around now since 2006 touring domestically and internationally.

Featuring Chris Masterson, formerly of Jack Ingram and Son Volt, and Eleanor Whitmore, formerly of Kelly Willis, Bruce Robison and Brent MitchellHusband and wife, singing and playing together. And they're each deft instrumentalists, and they've spent years playing in others' bands before coming together as a unit. They're bound by music and an uncommon depth of companionship, they're good enough to make Steve Earle swoon, and all of that sounds quite nice."Sometimes the 'couple' thing can seem a bit schmaltzy. We're more a band than a duo.

LANGHORNE SLIM & THE LAW  w/ very special guest JESSICA LEA MAYFILED - WED AUG 15

There is nothing like the challenges and camaraderie of the road to inspire a songwriter who thrives upon the emotional energy and exhilaration only travel can deliver. Some singers are devoted to the pursuit of perpetual motion, and Langhorne Slim releases his wild soul in ways that come out of the discipline of live performance. The 13 songs that compose Langhorne Slim & The Law's new The Way We Move are road-tested, rollicking and very rock 'n' rolling tunes that the songwriter perfected with his loyal band, and come out of the kind of good times and bad experiences that songwriters of Langhorne's lofty stature can turn into life-affirming rock 'n' roll.
