"Bold For God" - New Cafe Study
Jacob Bartlett will be leading a 2-week study in Cafe Eastwood, beginning May 4, on what it means to be "Bold for God" by investigating the importance of being bold in presenting the gospel to others by trusting in God's strength and promises.
Teacher Appreciation - Help Needed
The East Hamilton Ministerial Association is coordinating an outreach project of area churches in local schools during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6).

Eastwood has agreed to participate, to help share the gospel, by making goodie bags and passing them out. We need four (4) volunteers to agree to go to Wolftever Elementary, and we need some help making the goodie bags as well.

We will be going to Wolftever to deliver the bags at 2pm on Thursday, May 5.

Leading up to that, earlier in the week, we need assistance putting the goodie bags together.

If you feel led to help with either delivery or the making of the bags, please reach out to the church office at 423-396-2177 or [email protected].
Youth Mission Trip Next Fee Deadline
The  youth  group's summer  mission  trip is fast approaching and so is the next fee installment deadline.

If your child is going on the trip and you have made all previous deposit payments, you only owe $90, which is due by  May 1.  Please give the money to  Kathy Petty , or you can turn a check into the church office. Please put " youth   mission  trip" in the memo line of the check.

The total cost of the trip is $300. If you have not made all of the previous deposits, please pay what you can by May 1.

The trip dates are Sunday, July 3 thru Friday, July 8. We will be working with  YouthWorks , an organization who has established work sites and mission opportunities in the area. Click the link above to find out more what the students will be doing.
"The Warrior's Prayer"

Heavenly Father, Your warrior prepares for battle.
Today I claim victory over Satan
by putting on the whole armor of God!
I put on the Belt of Truth. 
May I stand firm in the truth of your Word
so I will not be a victim of Satan's lies.
I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness.
May it guard my heart from evil
so I will remain pure and holy,
protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.
I put on the Sandals of Peace.
May I go out and proclaim the good news
of the Gospel so your peace will shine through me
and be a light to all I encounter.
I take the Shield of Faith.
May I be ready to deflect Satan's fiery darts
of doubt, denial and deceit
so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.
I put on the Helmet of Salvation.
May I keep my mind focused on you
so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.
I take the Sword of the Spirit.
May the two-edged sword of your Word
be ready in my hands
so I can use it to take authority over the Enemy.
By faith, your warrior has put on
the whole armor of God.
I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory.

Sunday morning groups are a great way to learn more about yourself and God's plan for you while making valuable connections with others. We have several adult groups that meet Sunday mornings. You are welcome and invited to join in with any of these groups and deepen your experience here at Eastwood.
