Hosanna! Journeying to the Cross and Being with Suffering
"Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?" The crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee." ~Matthew 21:9-11

On Friday night, we will have the opportunity to step into the world of the Passion of Jesus Christ through the concert If There Be Any Sorrow. As Christians, the work of preparation in the season of Lent culminates in the final journey we walk from Palm Sunday through Holy Week and to the cross. This time in the life of Jesus invites us not only to imagine what it was like to be in those moments with Christ, but also where do we find places in our modern world to empathize with those who mourn and with those who suffer.

Worship opens for us the opportunity to imagine what the Kingdom could look like in this world and asks questions about how we as followers of Christ can work to live into that kingdom vision. I pray you will plan to be with us this Friday, April 7th at 8:00 PM for this moving experience as we prepare ourselves for all that the week leading up to Easter holds. I would especially encourage you to come for the pre-performance talk which will be in the Living Room at 6:45 PM and accompanied by a fish fry prepared by our very own Chef Jess. Visit here to RSVP for this event.

Peace,

Pastor Stacey
