Online Exhibit:
In Search of the Rustic Life
Whether coming to camp, sail, hike, or just to breathe the Maine air, euphoric people from around the country are making their way back to Maine for their summer idyll. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, "rusticators" were a particular breed of wealthy visitor, bringing their resources, passions, and love for our state to communities all along the coast. This exhibit, created by a student at George Stevens Academy, explores what rusticators found when they came to Blue Hill. View the exhibit.
