By following Jesus and reaching out to others, we seek God's transformation of ourselves and our world.
Greetings!
Jesus Is In the House

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! It’s a time to gather our households to celebrate moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, daughters, and all those women who have nurtured us in life and especially in faith. It’s a day when typically  we try to act like everything is fine. We try to stay on our best behavior. Yet, we don’t need reminding that everything is not always fine. In fact, often if Mom says she’s “fine", be careful! Reality is that many households are less than fine. Many struggle with great brokenness. What does the Bible say about how God would have us deal with brokenness in our households at home and as the church? Did you know our households can be better than fine? Join us as we worship God and hear again the difference Jesus makes when he is in our house!

Decisions Before Our Church
Canoeing the Mountains
Pender Church stands at the edge of a great adventure and opportunity! The transition in pastoral leadership presents the chance for you, the people of Pender, to think deeply and adaptively, and to act bravely and decisively. Many have pointed out that some of our ways we have been doing church are not serving us well anymore. Our neighborhood has changed as has the culture around us. In many respects, we are not prepared for what lies ahead. How shall we proceed? Your church leadership has found a guide in Tod Bolsinger’s book, Canoeing the Mountains. Copies are available in the church office. Join us on Wednesday, May 16th, at 7:30pm in the Cornerstone Room (Room 215). All are welcome as we discern through discussion led by our Pastors.
All Ladies are Welcome....
Mary Martha Circle Meeting
The Mary Martha Circle will meet on Monday, May 14th, at 7 pm in Room 202. Health Kits for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) will be assembled. These kits will be taken by our Pastors to the Annual Conference in June.

All women are invited to attend.

Women's Boutique Update
Praise God for a very successful Women’s Boutique last week!

  • Almost $7,000 was raised for missions.
  • Several needy families were allowed to shop for free at the end of the event.
  • One of our members, Debbie McKamey, took clothing and jewelry to Sunrise Assisted Living to bless the Alzheimers residents.
  • Pastor Jay and Harriett are taking clothing for needy families to Kentucky on their upcoming mission trip.
  • So many women and men (many who were new) showed up to help set up, serve and take down the event.
  • What a wonderful time of fellowship as we united together for a common purpose.
  • Praise for the abundance of prayers and donations, including baked goods and food for our workers!

If you have any feedback, especially concerns, about how the event went, we would love to hear from you. We are always looking for ways to improve our events.
