From the Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends,

We have just returned from our trip to Natchez, Mississippi and New Orleans. For the most part, the weather was gorgeous. There was only one rainy day, but in New Orleans, even those days can be magical. We went to a friend's home on Royal Street where we sampled some delicious red beans, listened to the jazz musicians on the street, and watched as the falling rain turned the downspouts on the famous lace balconies into beautiful fountains.

Needless to say, the food was fantastic--ask me about the world's best fried oyster po-boy! After a beautiful and spiritually rich observance of Holy Week and Easter, I was very grateful for the opportunity to go home to NOLA to rest and recharge. Now that we have returned, and with hope for pleasant spring weather coming soon, we are excited for a season of community events and celebrations, some longstanding traditions, as well as some new ideas.

Think Spring!
Father Rick
Sunday School
Many thanks to Stephen, Sandy & Cindy for teaching Sunday School the past two weeks. The children finished decorating their stained glass crosses and then last week, they had a great time decorating their fish magnets with glitter, singing, and hearing about the road to Emmaus! On Sunday, May 13, we will be honoring Prudence Thurston for her many years of service and we will also have two baptisms that day, so please be sure to join us! Our Sunday School program is going through a transformation and we are eager for your input -- please see Father Rick or Prudence if you would like to help.
Birth Announcement
Congratulations to Elizabeth Ochieng on the birth of her granddaughter Anyango Ochieng on April 12, 2018. Anyango's siblings Auma & Moli Ochieng are very excited!
Coffee Hour
Many have called coffee hour the eighth sacrament in the Episcopal Church, and it is indeed a great opportunity for informal community building at St. Mary's. It is held immediately following the 10am service in Bentley Hall, and we need hosts for several upcoming Sundays, including THIS SUNDAY! Please let  Lisa  in the office know if you can take one of these Sundays.
Episcobuild Walk this Sunday
Have you returned your Lenten Mite box? If not, please bring it with you to church on Sunday or turn it in at the office by April 20. The change will be counted, deposited, and a check will be written for the amount given and presented on behalf of St. Mary’s at the April 22 Habitat for Humanity walk in Newburgh.
Tuxedo Park School Benefit
All members of the community are cordially invited to Tuxedo Park School’s annual Benefit on April 28. It promises to be a fun event with exciting live and silent auction items such as hosting a private dinner party at Dottie Audrey’s, beautiful paper goods from local artist Elizabeth Grubaugh and much, much more! To learn more about attending or donating items to the auction, please contact Fiona Duffy .
All are truly welcome at St. Mary's, which is located within the historic gates of Tuxedo Park and serves the entire Tuxedo community. Please tell the gatehouse you're going to St. Mary's, proceed thru the gates and we're on the right (plenty of parking available).
